Harrison Barnes is an absolute beast in the mid and low post. Who knew?
In just two preseason games, Barnes has operated with devastating effectiveness in the post. His size and skill, combined with a lightning-quick first step to his right, has allowed him to torch defenders. He’s gotten to the rim at will, often finishing spectacularly through contact.

Everybody knew Barnes could shoot and defend at the NBA level, but nobody expected this. With the revelation of a sick post game, Barnes’ ceiling has been raised from “10-year starter” to “All-Star.”

Are you saying he'll be a mix of those two players? Because, he doesn't really play like eiher of them. He's not the defender Deng is and doesn't have the ball skills or playmaking ability that Roy has (Roy could run an offense).

I hope Barnes does keep going into the post. I was lukewarm on him if he continued the same style as college, and to me a post game is the best way for him to compensate for his handle and reliance on difficult jumpshots. Plus it will solve his somewhat low FT rate anfd maybe bump his rebounding.

I watched every college game Barnes played in (and a few from HS) and I can tell you nobody should be surprised at his low/mid post game.

Barnes spent a lot of time in the post as a High Schooler which led to an underdeveloped perimeter ISO game... and disappointment when he went to UNC. He never really had the opportunity to play in the post in college because Zeller and Henson operated down low, but you could tell he was more comfortable and efficient when he didn't need to break his man down off the dribble.

Meyers Leonard with a good first half going up against Gasol and the Lakers. And I think Lillard has assisted on all of his shots. With their speed they could make a great PnR combo.

Leonard getting ahead of the pack in the full court has gotten him to the free throw line a couple times.

Great stat line for my man Nando De Colo 11/2/9/2 including the game winner. Any one actually see it?

D-mo looked pretty poor although he didn't see much of the ball.

Terrence Jones and Lamb both looked great.

Leonard looks like he will be decent in the pick and roll. I really worry about his defence though. I also hope Joel gets some more burn in the second half.

Any one see Shved?

Drummond looked really good playing above the rim and showing off his athletic abilities.

Valancuinas needs to play with Jose more because there were plenty of times when he would make nice rolls to the basket and shoot 1st guys like Lucas wouldnt get it to him. Atleast Calderon understands pick n roll a lil better

Machado looked good again in limited minutes IMO. I don't think he needs to spend time in the D

Drummond looked pretty good. Seems like a real steal for the Pistons.
