Are Raptors serious with this? I would've thought he fetched $6-7M tops. Makes absolutely no sense seeing as they drafted Ross and then signed Fields to a big deal. I really have no idea what they are trying to do.

I am really starting to worry that Gerald Henderson fetches this kind of $$$ now.

We have $17 million invested in 2 swingmen and they both can't shoot or dribble the ball.

I would be too; Henderson's better than DeRozan (not saying much, but still). Man, this is such a terrible signing. There was absolutely no need to do this. He's arguably not even as good as Nick Young.

This is a dumb. Overpaying him by about 8 million over the course of the deal if we're being nice and banking on some potential.

On production Derozan isn't worth 6 million a year yet. 30 million would have been at least reasonable.

Demar and Fields overpay are the sole example why **** teams stays ****. No hope for raptors to make playoffs with starter wings like these 2... Well at least Jonas got his starting job and hope he develops well...

The fields signing is a punch in the stomach to me to this day....
Just boggles my mind...
however theres a chance that derozen might live up to his contract so we'll see.
BC should have definitely waited than giving him the contract though..it's almost a no-loss situation doing so.

He barely deserves the MLE in my opinion
His one saving grace is that hes young and has some athleticism
Literally nothing he has shown to this day tells us that he will get exponentially better, or that he is anything more than a below-average to average player

As a Raptors fan this makes me very sad.

First Ross then fields and then overpaying for no defense no rebound no 3 point Derozan.

No reason to be happy or expect much from this team for a while sadly.

Well..you pay for the production during the years..so let us hope he takes a step up.
I would have paid 7 - 8 mill.
I do not think there is enough upside gain for the raps to offer the extension. Which is why this for me is puzzling.
