Lin's confidence is shot. Ever since the Miami game last season b4 the allstar game, he has been shook. Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole broke his spirit.

RIP Linsanity.

Kobe passing to Metta is horrible comparison. Kobe has the ability to hit shots that nobody else can hit, and Metta World Peace is a very inconsistent shooter. Parsons is not a superstar or closer, he's just a solid player for the Rockets making a good basketball play. He made the extra pass, and if Lin hits that shot we would be talking about how unselfish it was.

WTF. That was a great read by Parsons. Lin was wide open.

Rockets really had a bad close to the game.

1) Poor rotation by the big man to allow Lebron a easy layup to take the lead.

2) Air ball by Lin

3) Unable to secure the rebound after a FT miss by Wade

4) Harden dribbles down the clock to shoot a contented, last second 3-pter

A wide open look by a bad shooter is still a terrible shot. It was a dumb pass by Parsons.

You think Kobe ever passes to Metta in that situation?

Until his shot becomes more consistent, it's for the best that he settles into more of a game manager role for Houston. He can definitely help his team out a lot if he focuses on playing great defense

he's going to need to work on his 3pt shot next summer... but for now he needs to start attacking more and more importantly utilizing pull-up jumpers in the mid range

Maybe?

Is the new narritive going to be to blame Lin's star teammate(s) for his ineffectiveness?

Really? What were his stats in the very next game, after that one against Miami?

Go ahead, look it up and tell me.

It looks like Daryl Morey didn't bother telling Mchale why Lin was so successful last year. And it wasn't by Lin standing at the corner 3 point line.

Daryl Morey was the one that desperately wanted Harden.

I do think Harden being extremely ball-dominant is why Lin hasn't been maximized so far this season. Harden can't move without the ball like the way a Rip Hamilton/Ray Allen can. He should too because he is a good shooter and a much better shooter than Lin is.

I honestly think a large part of why OKC was so bad at ball-movement last year was because of Harden. He made Westbrook play without the ball more and that was why Westbrook had a huge drop in assists from like 8 a game to like 5.

Harden's game is too simplistic. He needs more variety.

Blocked Wade, Lebron and either Charmers or Cole - 1 on 1 as well :D

For someone who supposedly can't defend he sure stops a lot of people....

Jeremy Lin is probably the most self conscious player I've ever seen. I know he's capable of being a much better scorer than this but he's trying to fulfill his role as a point guard first before anything else, and it's cluttering his mind that he can't focus 100% on the game. After the Linsanity period (and the Miami game) I don't think Lin played any differently, except that he was being way more passive when Carmelo and Amare came back. He just needs to go with the flow and stop thinking so much.

Yeah he airballed that 3 but Harden messed up most of the last plays. And if u guys gonna maul him on that by being shook, Wade missed BOTH his free throws right after that for the possible lead, lucky bounce to Bosh preserved it.

I agree , imho his instructions is to pass and wait for crumbs from the 3 pt line.

And oh Lin >>> Chalmers and Cole

Lets look at the bright side here. Lin blocked both Lebron and Wade in the same game. How many guards can claim that?

But yea, Houston is killing Lin's value every day

Or maybe Lin is killing Lin's value. They ran a ton of pick n roll in the games early with him and gave him some iso's even. What the hell you want them to do keep him as the focal point when he ain't cutting it? He hasn't been reduced to anything unwarranted. The coaches and players around him are putting him in the best place to succeed. He forces too many plays when the ball is contantly in his hands and has issues with protecting the ball or getting the ball in the right place at the right time. I've watched every possession as a Lin fan ... he's underperforming.

Lin is shooting poorly. Outside that his numbers are pretty solid. He is making 8 million per which is average for a starting PG.
