No one uses DEF/WS for PGs.

Dude like I said, you're grasping at straws now..

Uh, you're the one bringing up WS/48. YOU are backing it. I'm asking why and you're deflecting.

WS and WS/48 both use DEF/WS.

WS/48 is a combo of both.

No one uses specifically just DEF/WS for a PG. A PG can't impact the game defensively like big man anchor like a Duncan.

Yes, WS/48 is a combo of both scaled by minutes, but if you acknowledge that WS/48 is valid, then transitively speaking, you acknowledge that DEF/WS is also valid. I think DEF/WS is an absolutely garbage stat, so therefore I don't acknowledge WS or WS/48.

No F#cking way Lebron is MVP if his record is worse than OKC or the Clippers.

bron with one of his few poor games thus far.

it all comes down to final records.. bron will win if the heat are close to the best record and he maintains his numbers. its that simple really

Miami would be the 5th seed in the west, their record isn't good

The record is going to be a real problem for LeBron.

Miami is looking like a 56 win team or so. Gonna be hard to win the MVP over the Clips/Thunder one of which will probably win mid 60s

No it's not actually....the guy has 3 MVP's,the voters will grasp at any straw to give it to somebody else, unless
they don't have a choice(Miami finishes with the best record overall)

Rose won MVP with MUCH worse stats than Lebron despite his team having only a 4 game advantage

LOL @ only. Boozer missed 23 games and Noah missed 34 games and they still won 4 more games than the super team that season. Also, the Heat lost to the Bulls 2 out of 3 times w/Lebron that season, 3 out of 4 overall in the regular season.

Still....I was not questioning Rose' MVP campaign, just answering the guy above who said "if the Heat get close enough to the top teams,Lebron will win"

Which will not be the case,as history suggested

Exactly, Miami is 3-5 in there last 8 games, yet they still remain first. Something must be wrong?

This! I miss the old Lebron in Cavs days when he was able to take over, always, every game! Yes Lebron now is a better overall player, but he passes it too much in the stretch! he needs to be more selfish and take more responsability!

The Knicks and Hawks have cooled off from their cool start while the Bulls, Pacers, and Bucks all fight for pole position at the top of the Central Division.

In fact the hottest team in the East is... Toronto.

MVP candidates in the East definitely get an advantage considering how weak that conference is. First seed with that record? The Heat would be 5th seed in the West.

Paul has only 0.1 more defensive win shares than Carlos Boozer, who subsequently is also ahead of LeBron. And you back that statistical interpretation? Why?

If you completely removed defensive win shares from the equation he would still have the highest ws/48 regardless.

He has more offensive winshares per minute than Durant so kind of a moot point.

Lebrons not winning the MVP with the 5th best record in the NBA on that stacked team in the East.

1. Durant
2. Paul
3. Lebron
4. Melo
5. Duncan

Yeah, I think with the Heat slipping lately, and with the Thunder and Clippers on fire, LeBron has fallen to 3rd in the MVP race. I still think he's the best player in the game, but the Heat have been a little disappointing so far.

1. Durant/Paul (pick 'em)
3. LeBron

Right, like OKC and the Clipper are not stacked at all....
