Is Harden a legit MVP candidate?

The Rockets are on pace to win 50 games and Harden is averaging 27-5-5, .600 TS% and playing great ball with a weak cast that was gutted by Morey during the offseason. Is he is in the same tier as Durant, LeBron if the Rockets win 55 games?

I guess you can say he's a legitimate candidate because he's been ridiculous this year but he has no chance of winning it over Durant or LeBron. Both of them have better numbers and will have better records.

Yes, he opens up the floor for his teammates and has turned the Rockets into legitimate playoff contenders. Also is a top 5 scorer in the league.

Definitely a candidate. Especially given their improvement and winning as the season has gone on. I'm not so sure that I'd put him above Melo, or LeBron though, and you could put CP3 up there as well.

Durant and LeBron are having absurd seasons (although for LeBron that's pretty par for the course), so there's really stiff competition.

He should be in the discussion, but he can't be considered a serious contender. Durant and LeBron are just having too good of seasons. Harden def deserves a honorable mention though.

Rockets have the #1 highest scoring team in the league and Chandler Parsons is 2nd on the team in scoring @14ppg.

Rockets really still need a number 2 option.

as far as winning it he has no shot in hell. its durants to lose, the cp3 narrative died down fast.
i still think its alot for them to win 50 games and they havent even faced any injuries.
