Lakers Let Howard Walk to Have Clippers Lose CP3?

Post#1 » by Kupchak9 » Mon Jun 17, 2013 9:02 pm

Recent reports have indicated that Howard and CP3 would like to team up this summer. Under the Lakers best interests, would they be better off letting Howard walk to a team that can sign both him and CP3 so that they can do damage to their rival franchise? State your thoughts and opinions here.

Lakers should gear up to make a run at Durant by letting Dwight walk or sign-and-trading him out of the conference. And serving your cross-parking lot rivals up with a Dwight + CP3 combo makes no sense.

if they offer Griffin and Bledsoe why would the Lakers refuse to do the S & T? makes no sense. Lebron coming to LA in 14 is very unlikely to begin with while none of the other FA for that year are really players you build around at their age.

Letting Howard walk would be beyond dumb.

They knew the risk of trading for Dwight, they'll get something, even if it from a same building rival.

That would be incredibly stupid - especially if Griffin and Bledsoe is on the table.

"Well Kobe we could have gotten you Blake and Bledsoe but we decided to screw the Clippers, good luck tying MJ with Nash, Gasol and Earl Clark"

If it's Griffin AND Bledsoe I would have to consider. But not an even trade for Griffin.

Is Griffin really on the table?? I doubt it..the Clippers are probably offering Deandre Jordan and Blesdoe + fillers and picks.

As a Lakers fan I'd do Howard for Griffin straight up and I'm not a fan of Griffin and his game, but it would be worth it.

Clippers aren't suffering by keeping Blake and Bledsoe, Lakers are the ones suffering by getting nothing for Howard.

Clippers should refrain from any Howard talks and let the Lakers suffer by not allowing them to get anything back for him.

I'd beat Jimmy Buss with an ice-cream scooper if we accept Jordan in a package for Dwight.

Lol, why not. I really do not understand how Blake Griffin or nothing is really a decision.

They had Blake/Bledsoe last year and CP3 wasn't overly impressed. I think you guys need to get Howard to keep your buddy CP happy. Now, if you get KG, Doc and PP, then the trade is not as needed. But I don't think adding KG and Doc is enough to GUARANTEE that CP3 stays.

The scenario is if Howard leaves then CP3 will join him.

How about you can give Carmelo for Joe Johnson to the Nets or you can lose him for nothing and not ensure the Nets become perennial favorites in your own little tri-state area?

EDIT: and you know the only places he can go are Houston or Atlanta so he's more likely to re-sign with you

You're right, lots of people don't understand of selling out to your neighborhood franchise. The Lakers would lose much more than talent if they traded Dwight to the Clippers. They'd lose a substantial amount of revenue.
