With James, I'm thinking a squad led by Irving and Love can fight for one of the lower playoffs spots.

Blatant hole at the 3 and few bigs, they are a bit more than a 500 team. What'd be more interesting is this team without Love but with LeBron and all the players that they traded including Bennett and Wiggins.

Are we going by the assumption that the Cavaliers do not upgrade at the forward position without James?

Marion is a blatant hole at 3?

36 year old Marion is. He's not a good shooter, and he can't rely on his off the charts athleticism anymore. He can still contribute defensively, but he's likely to be a liability on the other end.

If he's your starter? He definitely would be

My god, that was stupid of them to trade away Wiggins when they don't have a superstar to replace him and they aren't ready to contend for a title. What were they thinking with that trade???

Basically Bulls with a healthy Rose:
Irving > Rose
Waiters = Butler
Marion = Dunleavy
Love >> Gasol
Varejao < Noah

Nobody is questioning the Cavs being the easy title favourites. What I'm asking is how far they would go minus Lebron this up and coming season.

We dont know what a (post 2012) healthy Rose looks like yet, but if he hasnt lost much then no way kyrie is better then him.

I was wondering this-let's assume Deng is there at the 3. I would think they would be top 3 in the East, right?

Top 4 in the East at worst and maybe the best team in that conference.

certainly a playloff team. 40-45 wins, upside of 50ish wins in the east.
