Ed Davis' are a dime a dozen in this league. Dude's just a body. Tristan Thompson (even overpaid) is way better than him. A former lottery pick in 2010 already on his 4th team. He's cheap, but I'd rather force-feed Meyers and Vonleh than give minutes to a guy like Ed Davis who is already 26 and never going to get any better.

What?

Nothing has been confirmed about Hill and the Lakers. A deal hasn't even surfaced as far as I know so I wouldn't worry yet.

Well Jordan Hill was on a non-guaranteed $13m so at least it won't be 3yr/36m. My gut feeling is he will get close to that money, probably a 2yr/20m. Locking him down long term with an uprising Randell just doesn't make sense.

So what are the Blazers rolling out next year?

Lillard
CJ
Aminu/Henderson
Davis/Vonleh
Plunlee/Leonard

Not enough shooting and I prefer Aminu at the 4 with Vonleh in a reserve role. Hopefully there are more shooters to come. I like Gerald Green for them.

Why Blazers stockpiling bigs? Kaman, Leonard, Vonleh, Plumlee, Davis, Lopez?, Freeland?

Considering Baynes got the exact same deal i'd say this is a steal for the Blazers. Always been a Davis fan.

Kaman has one more year and Lopez is an FA and will likely go elsewhere. Vonleh's a project for right now.

Great value signing, and an attractive tradeable contract if it doesn't work out.

Plumlee, Davis and Vonleh are all good tradeable contracts, likely Aminu as well. Olshey loves his assets and we're gunning for youth, so I like the signings so far.

This is a steal. Would have gone up to 3/30 from an NYK perspective.

I would like to see Leonard start next to Davis with vonleh and plum lee off the bench. The Blazers have done a decent job rebuilding. I expect McCollum and amino to have career years

Hederson is a SG that can play SF, not the other way around

Probably learned that if you are too demanding, then you'll end up in a situation where teams with cap space have already filled your position and only teams with the minimum are available.

That was my thought as well. They're fairly similar players, no?

I'm okay with this deal assuming our team is rebuilding, but Portland badly needs more playmaking still, and with or without Aldridge is going to have a jammed frontcourt. Only two respectable ballhandlers on the whole roster right now.

1 main difference; Lebron.

That contract for Tristan is atrocious but Tristan Thompson in the playoffs played better than Ed Davis ever has. Davis' calling card should be on defense, and he's a solid weak side defender, though he's so weak that he gets pushed out of position so often and gets bullied for rebounds. Thompson is the complete opposite, he tore frontcourts apart on the offensive boards.

Offensively, outside of offensive rebounding, this should be Davis, and it probably is. Though Davis with the Raptors looked like he'd be a Zach Randolph esque post player. He just needed to improve his game and polish up his skills and he'd be a legit 15ppg that you can regularly go to in the post. Hasn't improved once. There were rumblings from the Raptors beat writers that Davis had no motivation to improve, and although he did practice on his game, he didn't do it without any sort of enthusiasm. Since the last time I saw him as a Raptors he hasn't developed at all. Thompson from what I've seen has improved his game a bit. Won't be surprised if he catches up sooner than later.

Don't worry, they'll probably just give it to Carlos Boozer and Josh Smith :banghead:
