Many are just looking to hate on the Kings. Media narrative goes to simplistic anti-Kings view

Good deal for the Kings. I guess nobody wanted to to touch Rondo with a 10 foot pole after his last season.

Nothing like the soothing presence of a mature professional like Rondo to diffuse the powder keg that is the Kings. Great move Sacto.

He'll feed Cousins well.. Good deal in my opinion. He's going to be playing for a contract this year.

He was in a contract year last year and still pulled his dumb shenanigans.

Actually I think we only had about 8-10 mil before the trade so to get both rondo and marco yes we would of had to make the trade.

Especially with all these larger deals. Karl's personality might actually work with Rondo. I expect to see a better Rondo next year. If we don't, he's finished. 1 year deal makes sense, don't you think?

Sometimes a "bad fit" is the result. Josh Smith comes to mind.. In a Detroit uniform, he was one of the worst players I've ever seen (in 35 years), gets moved to Houston and actually looks like a decent player. Never underestimate how much "fit" plays into a players success.

Random drunk as f*%^ guidebook for those who care:
Rondo is mercurial for sure. He has not been the same since the ACL injury but actually started shutting down his game much earlier than that.

The Kings are a headcase franchise.
Karl is a headcase,
Boogie is a headcase.
Rudy Gay is a headcase.
Rondo is a headcase.

And if they all end up being the best of friends in some weird event, then they become likable. They are the Bad News Bears of the west.

Rondo does not fit in a ball movement offense. However, play a slowdown style, and give him a legit big to throw the ball to and some shooters and you might just be okay. Or you could burn in flames. The laughable Kings have at least given themselves a shot to be not terrible. The thing is, Boogie is so good, and Rudy Gay is still so talented, that you just might have enough to make the playoffs.

I'm rooting for either a Hindenburg disaster or a shock the world playoff run.

Karl, for how his teams have historically played, is a terrible coach for the strengths of this Kings team. However, Boogie and Rondo fit together extremely well, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I've got my popcorn.

The anticipated lineup is this.
Collison/McCallum
Rondo/Bellinelli
Mclemore/Anderson
Gay/WCS
Cousins

Based on what has been stated they want to run 2 point guards most of the time and they expect to have Gay Starting at PF. From my view this is a playoff type lineup with decent depth. We also still have about 10 million left in salary cap after these transactions. We could easily further improve our team.

I can see the small lineup ...but McLemore can't guard 3s man ...he'll get eaten alive ....and Rudy playing full time 4 minutes was a disaster in Toronto ....you guys need to get a true stretch 4 to make that lineup work IMO ....bring McLemore off the bench in you want to go small

There's no freaking way that's going to be our rotation.

Here's my prediction of what we'll see once WCS gets some October/November reps in and also accounting for our ~$10M remaining cap room which should be used on a center and forward:

Rondo(32)/Collison(16)
McLemore(32)/Collison(16)
Gay(18)/Belinelli(30)
WCS(16)/Gay(16)/Free Agent Forward(12)
Cousins(34)/WCS(14)

Depth: McCallum, Casspi, Moreland, Free Agent Center
Bench Warmers: Anderson, Stockton, Evans

Ty Lawson would be a better fit but that contract is unbeatable.

Rondo f***ed his reputation in these Dallas days, didn't know that it was that bad. He's a multiple allstar, d-League player get those 1/9,5 contracts right now
