Missing Piece... and where does it put your team?

Post#1 » by Knickas » Wed Jul 29, 2015 6:04 pm

What is the missing piece to your team, be it a specific player or a type of player that elevates your team to that next level, whether that be a fringe playoff team, conference finals contender, Finals Contender or Championship or bust level?

For the Knicks to fight for a 7-8 seed in the East I believe we need a strong wing scorer who can take pressure off of Melo and carry the load offensively at times... a non- JR Smith JR Smith if you will....

I felt it wasn't necessary to say, but semi realistic? No lebrons please.

always felt that the clippers needed a legit 3&D wing who could create a bit for themselves/not vanish in the playoffs, matt barnes, caron butler were serviceable but should have been bench players

hopefully pierce keeps up his play from last season and proves to be that piece

EDIT: Even though a SF would be the missing piece, with the way the west is the clippers could easily be out in the 2nd round again or could make the finals. The missing piece doesn't guarantee you anything in the West

Missing Piece... and where does it put your team?

The Magic have been struggling to find that rim-protecting floor-spacing PF that helps when you don't have a high-flying center.

They basically tried to pay Millsap $80M to ensure their young players get some decent playoff experience the next 3-4 years. He's not a shot blocker but he plays good defense.

Now they have to do it the hard way.

Anthony Davis would look real nice on the Magic and would be a perfect fit next to Vuc.

I'd take Anthony Davis right now. Young, perfect fit at PF for us.

But I guess I wouldn't say no to Lebron..

Jared Jeffries, Laundry Fields, Toney Douglas and the player formerly known as Bill Walker.

All in their current states.

The 2005-2009 version of Manu would be pretty sweet off the bench

I mean I'd take Davis on the Pistons over Lebron moving forward, but if Lebron is playing on any team in the East that team is the favorite.

Assuming Jabari comes back strong our biggest need is still a forward. We just signed Copeland who is a hybrid forward, which will help a lot if he can have a bounce back year, but we're still one away from being set there. A very good stretch 4 like Ryan Anderson off our bench would give us top 4 seed and 2nd round potential imo. As it stands I like our chances at a top 5 seed and potentially winning that matchup.

MCW / Vasquez / Bayless / Ennis
Middleton / Mayo / Vaughn
Jabari / Copeland / Inglis
Giannis / Anderson / JOB
Monroe / Henson / Plumlee

I don't mean it like that. I really liked DLee on the roster and appreciated his contributions in a limited role.

I'm just implying that this year if we repeat our addition was the subtraction of Lee from the roster.
