Bold Predictions for the 2015-2016 Season

Post#1 » by yoyoboy » Sat Aug 29, 2015 9:12 pm

I'll start. Admittedly, my predictions aren't really that bold but anyways...

- LeBron James will win his 5th regular season MVP award.

- The Pistons will finish in the bottom 3 of the league record-wise.

- The Spurs will mildly disappoint by failing to earn a Top 4 seed despite lofty expectations following the Aldridge acquisition.

- Bradley Beal will win the MIP award.

- The Demarre Carroll signing will be a massive bust for the Raptors.

- The Celtics will finish with a Top 6 seed in the Eastern Conference.

- The Jazz will make the playoffs.

Again, I didn't really go out on a limb. What are your guys' predictions?

Orlando makes the playoffs. Toronto does NOT.

CLE/CHI/MIA/WAS/MIL/ATL/ORL/IND

Toronto has a glaring hole at the 4 and it will come back to bite them this year.

Atlanta has a huge hole at the 3 and they'll fall for the same reason.

Do you think it'll be the Bulls? Or maybe the Heat? I for one don't think it's an absolute lock we make it back to the Finals - though we're probably the favorites - as the Bulls, the Hawks, and the Heat should be tough. Plus it's not guaranteed we're healthy come postseason time.

Lol. I'll admit if I were a betting man, I would place a lot of money on us returning to the Finals, but like I said, you never know. LeBron has a lot of mileage on him and with how much of an iron man he's been throughout his career, he unfortunately seems due for an injury. And I wouldn't count out the Bulls, as I think Hoiberg has the potential to pull a Kerr.

The Cavaliers are still the odds on favorite to represent the EC again. However, the Kyrie Irving injury is a concern it he is out until January. There still would be enough time to build good chemistry over the second half of the season. David Blatt needs to improve as a coach as well.

Bulls have the same perennial injury question mark hanging over their heads. They also have a new coach, which again factors inot the equation. A lot of things would have to go right for the Bulls to make it to NBA Finals.

The Heat will succeed as far as Wade's legs can carry them. They have a very good starting five and a subpar bench compared to Chicago or Cleveland.

If all teams are healthy, I would pick the Cavs. Otherwise, the team who is most healthy of those three will probably make it to the Finals.

- Mavs make the playoffs and have an interesting first round series (6-7 games)
- Miami finishes 2nd in the East, Wade has one of his healthiest seasons, and they get to the ECFs
- Lillard leads the league in scoring, but Portland finishes last in the West
- 3rd seeded Golden State is upset by Memphis in the first round of the playoffs
- Durant comes back and wins MVP

-I think this becomes the first year of many where we confidently state that AD is the best player in the world.

-I also think Nikola Mirotic becomes the clear second best player in Chicago.
