MIami has no 3 point shooting at all, only their PG can shoot 3s in theory and maybe McBob / Green, that's going to be a problem and it was this game as the Hornets (!!) took more than 3 times as many 3s as the Heat did.
For Miami to be what their optimistic projection is, they need Deng to be at least an average 3 point shooter, at least this game he looked nothing like that (his attempts missed pretty badly.)
Hornets rested a lot of guys today, their offense look much more stagnant than the day before and was bailed out by Brian Roberts having a pretty big game, they really didn't pass the ball much and it felt like their game plan was to just randomly jack up 3s, which kinda worked given that the other team can't shoot at all. no one other than Roberts looked that good (relative to ability.) Lin had a blah game buying some points at the line, Kemba has been pretty good from 3s so far , Lamb also wasn't hitting anything. Frank hit 3 shots for 3 but missed everything else inside.
Miami had all the highlight plays from this game and still lost by double digits, I know it's pre-season but it's not like they played more scrubs then the Hornets (it was actually more the other way around.) not the greatest start for the Heat I'd think. Hornets meanwhile should feel pretty good , hopefully they get good news on MKG in the next few days as they head to China.
