Rudy Gay as a 6th man

Post#1 » by mdonnelly1989 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 6:18 am

I've never really cared for Rudy Gay that much as Basketball player. Solid skills good at scoring but doesn't seem to bring much else to the table.

I think he would be best off as a 6th man thoughts?

For me it's more about minutes rather than who's on court for the tip off. Assuming he gets similar minutes I don't see how his impact would be noticeably different one way or the other.

But it's worth trying. Nothing else seems to have made him into a productive, winning basketball player.

I don't think its a good idea.

Our bench has been poor lately, but sometimes you'll catch Karl taking him out early and putting him in with the bench to give us a scoring punch, as its hard for us to have Cousins and Rudy off the floor at the same time.

You've got some options with Rudy though, depending on roster needs you can go small ball and put him at the 4, or his standard 3.

They need to trade him. Rudy is like Shareef Abdul Rahim... puts up great numbers... little impact.

I would keep him on my team... if he didn't play the whole game and we needed a clutch basket and play him to make the shot, and then sit him... thats it.

It worked for Iggy. I think he would make a great 6th man.

But the reason it worked for Iggy was because of his defense, ball handling and passing ability.

I domt understand the hate is it the money? Or shall i say past contract. Everything you listed isnt criteria for a 6th man. You dont have to be an all star to be a starter.

Yes stagger subs. That team should never have both rudy and cuz sitting simultaneously.

Yes. He would destroy second teams, while not giving up as many points to the opposing bench SF (weakest bench position in league).
