If Michael Jordan ran for President 4 years from now - Would he WIN?

Post#1 » by UNC_MJ_Fan23 » Tue Jul 26, 2016 5:53 pm

Seems like his popularity would carry him pretty far. Even if he lost he would pump up his JORDAN brand much in the way Trump does for his brand.

Our culture is so brainwashed I think just about any major star could run and win. Problem is most of them don't know about politics. Or they don't know enough to speak intelligently about complex situations like foreign affairs, trade deals, etc.

Why this would be a bad move for Jordan is his shoe brand would be front and center and they would expose his use of cheap labor and make him look like an "evil capitalist". That's a hard sell to the democratic party which I assume is the party he would run with. He would probably be more successful running as a republican even if that blows people's minds when he announced. He could tout himself as a business man and he easily could pull black votes away from the democrat party and win.

He would allow the use of child workers to make his shoes in the US.

He will make America great again by giving everyone who votes for him a free pair of Jordans.

This is where I was getting at. Simply stated I think Jordan is more diplomatic and more universally liked than Donald Trump. A lot of world problems could be solved by world leaders playing one on one with MJ and then sitting down to the negotiation table before getting down to business.

Just because Trump is doing so well, does not mean the likes of Jordan, The Rock and Kanye West could run for president. Trump is a proven leader who leads day by day 1000's of employees. You cannot compare someone with those leadership traits to these stars who have brains such as ants. They have talent to sing, act & play sports ; Trump has a talent to SELL & LEAD. These are talents that only 1% of the population hold.

Stop this nonsence.

I don't think anyone with a well publicized gambling addiction could win the presidency

For all his basketball greatness, Jordan has never shown himself to be politically conscious nor is he an engaging or moving speaker. One thing that Trump has over Jordan is his ability to express himself charismatically in a simple way that really appeals to people's feelings regardless of what the facts of the situation are. Trump though not a natural politician is a natural salesman. Jordan even becoming a party's nominee is doubtful.

Pretty sure MJ has more employees if you count his kids in China.

Not saying Trump is better by any means..

i personally would think Jordan would be a solid candidate. He has been a leader his whole life, smart and well spoken, and universally appreciated. Couldn't be worse than Bush Sr. or Jr.
