So the Jazz were missing one of their two best players in each of the first four games, and they still managed to even the series. If they can put their full team together from here (knocks wood), they should be favored to win the series, especially with Blake out.

It's becoming an interesting chess match. The Jazz started trapping the pick-and-roll to get the ball out of CP3's hands. The Clips now need a secondary ball handler who can make a play. With Blake out, that then forces a player like Felton or Austin Rivers in the floor. The Jazz can then try to attack that player on the defensive end. At the same time, the Clips are likely to keep Crawford on the floor because they need the offense. So now the Jazz are attacking a line-up of CP3, Crawford/Redick, Felton/Rivers, Moute and DAJ. This is why the Jazz are likely to get mismatches in their favor and open looks unless CP3 plays brilliantly.

A line-up of Hill/Hayward/Ingles/Johnson/Gobert should have an advantage.

Liked the Utah closing line-up tonight and imagine it with Hayward. I'd like to think they are good enough to win the series, but CP3 is a problem. He now HAS to look score more, which has always been the knock with him in big moments.

JJ Redick struggling against Ingles and co.

After 4 games:

7.8pts
35 fg%
27 3p%
2.5 TO

Not a good look for his next contract.

Yeah, CP3 is still the best player in the series, but I don't think he can carry the whole team. Will be interesting to see. The Clips had a golden opportunity tonight with Hayward out and Gobert on limited minutes.

What happened to Hayward. He played only 9 minutes and wasn't fouled out. I was at work so didn't watch.

he was sick

man, JJ tearing these dudes a new one. LAC has never been able to defend tall wings and I thought that might've been fixed a little with MBAM but I guess not

hopefully Gobert stays healthy/Hayward gets well soon, Jazz look like a tough out with everyone healthy - good coaching, quality iso scoring, good defense led by elite anchor - all traits that you see in contenders. you know you've got a good coach when players like Ingles who got cut by other teams are suddenly playing huge roles for your team

I thought Joe Johnson was washed up as he struggled in Brooklyn last season. Oops.

Ingles is gettin PAID this summer.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

If the guy can give us north of 7 assists, I honestly don't care about his scoring so much. I love that this guy can give us solid defense, and he can give us 10-15pts regularly, but he can give us 5+ assists when we need playmaking. I love Hood, but I could see Ingles in a permanent role as a starter.

He played with us in Miami last season in late February. The talent was there, but he seemed out of shape for the season. We threw him in with the starters and tried to use him as more of a spacer instead of a high usage scorer seeing as we already had Wade and Dragic and that didn't work out very often. I wish we nabbed him in the off-season and put him through training camp and a diet to shed a few pounds and come in motivated to play. He would have been pretty good off the bench last year, imo. He was pretty damn efficient with us, but didn't take enough scoring opportunities, sadly.

If Hayward is good for even 15pts next game on decent efficiency, I feel really good about stealing game 5. Glad they sent Hayward back home early so he could get some rest ASAP. Without Hayward, this series is too close for comfort. I feel the absence of Hayward is just as big if not bigger than Griffin, and we were very fortunate to rally and win game 4.

Oh I see he's 29. Well, the one skill that can improve with age is shooting. Why does hood start over him if Ingles is capable of that production? Is it because playmaking is usually covered by Johnson and Hayward?

Took Johnson some time to get going, but post all-star game he's been good, and this month he's been great!
