Do you believe everything people tell you? Even funnier is the fact those "stats" come directly from Turner Sports. If you take a company promoting themselves at their word, then you must believe McDonalds burgers are amazingly delicious. If McDonalds tweets their burgers are the best, you better believe that too since you're keen on believing everything you're told. We all know Hernandez is a murderer even though his record will never say it, but apparently since a judge tossed the conviction after dying without being able to appeal, you believe he didn't murder anyone because records officially show he never killed so much as a fly, let alone multiple people. He killed multiple people. Just like Ray Lewis who was found not guilty, so he must be innocent since that's what you were told. Ignore the fact the limo driver saw him covered in blood while trashing his clothes. Innocent man right there... a jury of 12 said so, so the rest of the 320 million Americans should agree with it because they said so. Serious question, do you think for yourself or do you rely on people telling you what to think?

The NBA should be more concerned with arena attendance before worrying about TV ratings. Other than a handful of the most popular teams I see TONS of empty seats even in prime sections during the RS on LP.

Between rising ticket costs, $20+ for parking, ridiculous food/drink costs it's less attractive to attend games. I'm perfectly content to watch on the 60" in HD at home drinking my nice bourbon without worrying about getting home safety.

Nah, those tickets are sold even if they're empty. Their either hanging in the clubs, exclusive concession areas or didn't show up. NBA games are better in person though. Being there live and up close, seeing everyone's expressions and things players do that you miss on TV.

NFL is the league where it's way more enjoyable to watch on TV than actually being there, excluding their long ass commercials because you got to wait in either place. Even still I have a hard time even watching NFL games live anymore. I usually start them about an hour late and play catch up so I'm not wasting my time.

My god I just said the NBA rating were up and that all of a sudden turned into Hillary and polls, kids being raped and eaten, Anderson Cooper green screen, Seth Rich conspiracies, Russian hacking and Trump being impeached haha. Anyways on topic, I think ESPN's issue has recently a lack of identity and a clear vision, they are trying to be too many things in once. It seems they are shifting their focus to how marketable a personality is, rather than the quality of the analysis itself. Maybe its the right thing to do to increase mass appeal, but the die hard sports fan will likely enjoy espy less and less.

Also,what the other poster said is true, they need to more actively pursue alternative methods of delivering their product outside cable/satellite.

It's important to note that the tv deal is between the NBA and the Walt Disney Company. Don't mix up the networks that air the games versus the companies that own the rights. Disney isn't going anywhere.
