Uh did you watch the series? If it wasnt for Durant the series would have been 2-2 going into game 5. Also when the cavs made runs Durant was the one to get big buckets for them.

Yes curry played well with the defense zeroing in on him but to say there was no defensive pressure on Durant is absurd

How is Durant not rightfully the MVP? 39 points in a closeout game, but lets give it to Curry. smh

Thats huge coming from someone who seriously believes "warriors arent that much talented than the cavaliers and just play better basketball"

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

You should be banging your head. Green and Thompson weren't even factors at times. Especially on offense. If Cleveland ran an offense that kept Kevin Love involved they would have won the series. Instead they run this Iso garbage and make everyone play off what Lebron and Kyrie do.

In terms of this thread. It is just laughable. Not only did they hide Curry on defense the entire series. He was front running stats most of the series. Not saying he was a bad player but the Curry runs when they are up were very nice for the Steph lovers. They have convinced themselves that not only was Steph actually the best player. That they would have won the series without Durant and with just a decent SF.

Look, as a Warrior fan, we will probably miss Curry more when all retire because he was right there part of the root of what we built but this year it was clearly Durant's. Even Curry doesn't care about it so i wonder why people make a big fuss about it.

Yes ofc he is according to boxscore obsessed individuals.
Eye test does not lie and it clearly shows Curry is the MVP , you need a certain amount of bball IQ to understand that though.

Are we gonna ignore the defensive presence of KD??? He helped out on Lebron. High Bball IQ u have

2 time mvp, 3 finals and not 1 finals mvp to show for. steph was shook last year and begged durant to join the 73-9 team to get revenge on the goat. only way you can beat this version of lebron.

I am amazed how people are crazy after stats such as points scored, assist mades, the tangibles. Keeping players like love bron and Irving combined under 100 points is an achievement in itself. Credit for this solely goes with Green and Klay and people who cant understand dont really understand the game of basketball. As Pop has proven over and over again, offensive wins u games, Defense wins you championship. Curry and KD are very good players, doesnt mean Green and Klay are not good.

Nope ,its more like Curry allowing the ring chaser to join the greatest regular season team ever and be along for the ride where they would have probably won without him!

Can't believe there are actually Warriors fans who watch our games and don't believe this is Curry's team all the way. Not only based on the emotional connection we all built over the years but also because Curry opens up the game for everyone else, makes the team go offensively, is the main reason the Warriors' offense looks unstoppable. The Finals were only a friendly reminder of how much of the opponent's game plan is dedicated to getting the ball out of Curry's hand - and what they are willing to give up as a consequence. It's mind-blowing.

That said, Durant's FMVP is absolutely deserved. Curry has a great argument as well - just scout play-by-play sequences of the series - but KD was critical at the end of the closest game of the series and took full advantage of the opportunities he got while hitting numerous timely shots. Both guys are deserving and who should get it depends on what you value most when determining the winner of awards. There was never a doubt that Durant was the one the media would vote for, though.

Why would he take a paycut, when he is earning 12 million dollars as a 2-time-MVP?

The way I see it, if not Durant, Cavs would be repeating.
He is an MVP.

It has been very obvious the whole season that your problem was GSW with KD beating LeBron rather than anything more deeply philosophical.

Do you put the same caveat on LeBron's first Miami title when his first superteam beat a younger KD's organically grown OKC team?

Everything KD himself said about coming to GSW to improve as a player seems to be coming to pass. He and Curry are the real "dynamic duo" and are perfectly suited to play together. KD was never going to play to his ultimate potential with Westbrook as his point guard.

I think it is still Curry's team and that it all turns on him, but have no problem with KD being MVP after his clutch play in game 3 and play in game 5. I am someone who agrees with DUPP that the game 5 winner would win the title btw.

If Durant had the series Curry had, this would probably 2-3 in Cleveland's favor.

LeBron is the true Finals MVP. Best and most impactful player in the series by a country mile. He got robbed again, just like 2015.

That being said...you are straight tripping if you honestly think that he is the best player on the Warriors. That title belongs to KD, hands down. They are both NBA top-five, but KD is probably 1a or 1b, while Curry hovers around 3-5.

Kyrie Irving is 3 pounds heavier, but even that, Kyrie is the more skilled offensive players in the NBA. (And then there is a short guy in Boston which is pretty good as well)

Curry is no doubt the craftiest and pound for pound best shooter in the NBA though.

Not taking anything away from Kyrie, but for my money Curry is the more skilled finisher. He makes equally (if not more) acrobatic layups at the rim with half of the athleticism. Kyrie Irving is a great player in his own right, but I've got Curry between the two.
Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

should have been lebron. easily the best player in the finals. curry is a regular season player. 2 time mvp, not 1 finals mvp to show for through 3 finals.
