My favorite quote
“The people there who were Knicks fans … they weren’t too happy about it,” Mitchell said. “I almost got hit in the head with a Snapple bottle because they were just throwing stuff around outside. It was cool. I was just celebrating, so it was pretty cool.”

If there are any Bulls/Knicks fans here what was your reaction to his decision Im curious

I didn't expect to get Lebron at all but I was mad because I wanted to see D. Wade and Bosh go against Orlando, Boston, or Cleveland.

I'm 35. I already feel old as dirt. But I'm also old enough to know that in ten years I'll look back at 35 and think, "What was wrong with me? I was so young back then!"

We're just a year away from players playing in the NBA that were born in the year 2000...

That makes me feel old.

Happens all the time. Kids get held back a year to dominate against younger kids in their class.

Wanna feel even older. Bradley Beal wore nr. 23 in college, not because of Jordan, but because of LeBron.

Yea it's not weird at all. I'm actually more surprised when a guy is in his proper class.

I still can't believe he's only 24. Feels like he has been in the league for decade now.

I don't feel old because I'm only a couple of months older than Donovan Mitchell. :D

Didn't expect LeBron to join the Heat at all back then. It was speculated, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I don't think LB cared about what people thought then, and still has the same mindset.

When people coddle your balls from the time you were 10, and with a mother like he had, it's no wonder he acts as he does.
His next move is going to be just as bad, but without the cameras.

I know one reason was that he wanted to do it at a neutral site (none of the cities of the teams pursuing him)

Lol LeBron grew up poor and didn't receive national acclaim until he was 17.

At 10 years old he was sleeping couch to couch with no stable home and no father around, not getting his balls coddled.

Yeah - that’s very old for 6th grade - he had to be held back either when he started kindergarten and/or repeated a grade.

Most 13 year olds are starting 8th grade and will turn 14 during the school year nowadays... Some families hold back/start their boys late for sports reasons (so they can be bigger for their grade once they get to high school) so that may have been what happened w/ him.

Btw...the guys on SiriusXM were talking about that school Mitchell went to (the Greenwich day school) - I guess it costs $40,000 a year for grade school or something like that...the preschool program was/is $28K... :o

And it says he wanted LeBron to go to Miami? Why???? I think that’s just a fib to kiss up to LeBron...

Most kids start high school (9th grade) at age 14.

Rookie youth doesn’t make me feel old - what makes me feel old are guys 10 years younger than me, who I once thought of as young up and coming players, being referred to as “washed up” and needing to retire.

For instance, Melo’s 25,000 points really made me feel old...I remember him at Syracuse like it was yesterday :(.

I feel old whenever I think about players I saw play in college, had long NBA careers...and have been retired for years (like Shaq for example). And I'm only turning 37 this year.
