I think you need players who have four main qualities:

-Can defend
-Can shoot threes
-Can run/play fast
-Don't need the ball

Aside from Melo being a terrible shooter/scorer and defender this year... he seemed to have really bogged down the Thunder's pace with the way he plays.

Then you can add a P&R center.

Maybe would've been good with the Steve Nash (in his place) Suns?

This type of a team would work.

PG: Ricky Rubio
SG: Russell Westbrook
SF: Joe Ingles
PF: Derrick Favors
C: Rudy Gobert

Basically, Westbrook plays the MItchell role on the Utah Jazz. He gets to adjust in the Utah system and the ball is mostly out of his hand. You are essentially saving Westbrook from himself in this scenario and I think it will work well.

To be fair, if he said he was going to "shut that **** off" about the jazz whilst he was on their team, I'd actually believe him.
