What's the easiest website for betting on who's going to win an NBA game?

Post#1 » by OkcSinceSGA » Thu Mar 5, 2020 8:45 pm

Now that the NBA has made betting legal, I want to get into cashing in on some of my predictions. Is there a streamline website where I can randomly bet say $100 on a Clippers win and deposit the winnings the next day etc? The current betting stuff with exact spreads etc, is too confusing for a novice like me. I guess I wouldn't mind being able to bet on a specific 10+ point win etc, but what's a way I can just flat out bet on a general win?

You're not gonna find anywhere where you can deposit your winnings the next day. Typically takes a few weeks to get your money you won sent to you.

Any sportsbook will let you bet on W/L, which is called the moneyline. Of course you will not get even money for the most part on games with the Clippers since they will be heavily favored. Bovada is pretty easy to use. Not sure how it has changed with the current legislation but it was always easy to get money in there even prior (just needed a certain kind of gift credit card you can buy at a drugstore). Getting money out is a little tricker but not that big of a deal and most sports gamblers don't withdraw anyway because sports betting has a terrible ROI. If you are interested in making the games a little spicier, then go ahead and sports bet (although for someone of your mood swings this could end up very badly and ruin your marriage). If you want to make money, just put all your money into tech stocks and don't look at it for 30 years.

Oh okay. I'll deal with that then. I just don't want the ones where you have to win a certain amount to pull the funds. I'd like to be able to cash out game to game regardless.

Tonight the Rockets are favored. If I bet on the Clippers (which is what I'm trying to do), I'd obviously make a profit if they win? Lol, this is more just for fun with small money, not looking to make an income from it or something, so don't worry about the mood swings lol. Was thinking of throwing down $100.

If you bet just straight up on winners you'll barely get anything back. Odds for the favorites are so incredibly low you're better off using the spread.

None of them will require you to make a certain amount unless you are trying to get bonuses, which are scams anyway. Withdrawing generally requires some paperwork but for small amounts it's probably no big deal. They will just mail you a check.

At Bovada right now, you can get -130 on the ML for the Clippers which means a $130 bet will pay $100 (you'll get $230 back total). So the line must have moved. Remember, the casino takes about a 10% vig so the odds are never that great for you. That's why sports betting is a terrible bet. And don't live bet. That's suicide.

Just remember I warned you.

This is the best advice. It's really a bad idea for die hard sports fans to get into sports betting because their judgement is going to be clouded, and the computers know more than you. It will also ruin your appreciation for the game. You have no idea how addictive this is.

The only exceptions I'd make are games very early and very late in the season which sometimes have very off initial lines due to player movement, tanking, resting, and such, but I'm guessing the computers have caught onto this. And also futures bets can be ok when the public is off base, like I think Bucks +250 for the title is a steal.

Betting heavy favorites to win straight up is one of the worst strategies. The ROI just isn't there. Seems easy money making 20-30$ per 100 you bet when it hits. They don't win nearly the % of time to make it profitable though. Honestly, you're better off betting the big dogs and getting the huge payouts when they hit. Both probably losing strategies though

But mostly just wanted to add, depending on what state you're located in it could make it easier if that state has specifically legalized gambling. Since you're a Clips fan I assume Cali and to the best of my knowledge it's not legal there yet, seems like a bill is in the works though.

Also when a big favorite loses an ML bet, not only will you be out your money, but also probably the replacement cost for your tv or monitor.

Yeah I don't believe sports betting is legal in CA but it's easy to get money in and out of online sites like Bovada, or at least it was a few years ago.

OP is confused, Sportbooks are legal in the following states. If OP does not live one of the state below, he needs to use a offshore sportbook, most of which has minimum withdrawal amounts and possibly fees.

Arkansas
Delaware
Indiana
Mississippi
Montana
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
Tennessee
Virginia
Washington D.C.
West Virginia

It is not illegal to bet on online Sportsbooks from the US, however it is illegal to deposit the proceeds from any online betting in any US bank. The US government isn't cracking down on this however. Most banks won't care either.

If you're in Canada or Jersey, Sportsinteraction has been great for me, no problems or delays

I've seen other lists so I'm not positive which are accurate. But, I know for 100% it's legal in Iowa as I do it all the time. Since it's not on the list provided (neither is Nevada) I assume that's not an entirely accurate list. Best I can tell Cali isn't though.

It's only a matter of time until almost all states legalize it. Maybe a few bible thumper states won't, but once the feds left it up to the states it's only a matter of time until almost all do.
