What is the Knicks fascination with Jalen Brunson?

Could someone tell me what the Knicks fascination with Jalen Brunson is? He is a 3rd option (which the knicks have plenty of) at best but they are treating him like a superstar. Someone please educate me. He is a good player but not a great player.

Exactly. The Knicks need true star/Superstar caliber players,not very good starters,unless they are content with being medicore every season. Maybe they are expecting to attract a Superstar in the future? I can't see how Jalen Brunson would really make a big difference for the Knicks franchise.

Hes a Knicks type player... one dimensional who will get overpaid for a short stretch of playing well. I have always said that he's a great backup guard but a bad starting guard.

This will be another contract that Knicks will regret when you consider the draft assets they had to move out to make it happen. Just a horribly run franchise.

They should have pushed hard to move up to get Ivey or Sharpe instead.

I think its just cause they know he will choose them and is a good player. Listening to Woj go over some of the Brunson and NY connection has me thinking hes definitely choosing them over the Mavs if they get the cap-space

He's a good player in free agency. Has dropped 40 in playoff games. Can create his own buckets easily. Young. Stats being deflated playing on Mavs. Best time for a long contract. What's surprising? The only abnormality is his internet stock has plummeted from Doncic stans.

third option elsewhere is a 1 or 2 with the knicks

don't matter. he's staying @mavs anyway. nobody wants to play with the knicks, especially one with a future

Am just slightly worried that Brunson ain’t enough , he not much better than what they thought they were getting from Kemba.
Even when kemba was healthy enough and playing well , they were still topping out as a .500 team.

The bright side is RJ and Fournier were both positive +\- post all star break.
Think their other position of need , C, will have to be addressed as well to really improve.

What has Dolan got to do with this? He turned over the keys to those running the FO and signs the checks, lol. Your FO is either really bad or really corrupt (as in, getting paybacks from agents/players they sign)... or both.
