Embiid's antics have gone too far. NBA needs to stop him.

Post#1 » by youngthegiant » Mon Nov 21, 2022 9:51 pm

All these clips are just from one game and there's an even one clip missing where he falls on wide open a spot up 3. The way the NBA refs Embiid is a complete joke. Not only does he get rewarded for just throwing his body around and jumping like a fish, he's already caused a serious injury because of it(Danny Green ACL), NBA needs to get this under control, it's ridiculous. No other NBA player gets away with this. Him and Luka are both ruining the game, anytime they miss a shot they look at the ref to bail them out. It's getting out of hand.

Don't worry he's got maybe 2 years left in the NBA before he ends his career flopping. It's a self-correcting problem.

Pot calling the kettle black. They didn’t do anything during the Lebron I’m going to to put my down head down and shoulder charge you days and didn’t do squat when Giannis does it and travels and carries to boot. You don’t see threads on how does Giannis get away with this do you?

thats a pretty bad title phrasing. Its not Embiid problem, its NBA problem.

Nba refs are a joke, most of the time they're just predicting the foul instead of blowing the whistle on what they saw.

I think OP is getting at... Embiid is falling backwards into players... and that is dangerous play... not that he is "flopping" ... which a lot of players do.

If I had the time, I would create a Twitter account with a counter on how many times Embiid hits the floor in a game. My guess is 20+ times at least.

Giannis gets these threads every season (charging and carrying). He also gets more charge calls against him than any other player in the league, he's just good at getting to his spot just before the defender does (most of the time).

There's not enough time in the world to track Embiid's flopping.

I agree, the title of this thread goes too far.

As annoying as their threads and comments might be this is the same thing in the opposite direction with that title.

You're not upset with Embiid, he's just a tall, much wider, very slow version of James Harden.

You're upset with the rules. And should be targeting them as such.

Love Embiid since KU, but dude might be the biggest flopper in the league. Very talented but also very reliant on the help of the officials.

This is an era of inflated stats.

Its quite funny watching Bucks vs 6ers games, neither Embiid or Giannis get their normal level of calls cos of the star rep of the opposing front court and their offence (typically, but not all the time) is a lot less effective vs non- superstar front courts

It truly is.

You honestly should just remove 10 ppg and about 50% of the aspg at least to get some comparison of the player's true averages in this era compared to others.

You can probably blame this on Harden

Yeah, flopping is less of an issue. When someone as big as him throws his body around like that, it's just dangerous.

But the rub is that those "rules" are not the same for everyone.

Granted, we'd be having the same discussions about rules only for certain star players during other eras, too. But we're in the here-and-now, and it most definitely seems like Joel Embiid is one of the very few players officiated so favorably on offense.

On a basketball forum, it's going to be a topic because it has an impact on nearly every game that Embiid and a couple of other stars play.
