See how they list the 2 rebounds versus Toronto instead of the 37.5% FG when he shot 9/24? That's why that's the only one where they didn't list the FG%. Sneaky sneaky.

Otherwise some seriously hot shooting. He was 6/9 from 3 against LA and 7/11 against Phoenix. 7/11 tonight against the Warriors.

Atypical shooting, but a big hot streak for him helping him have some big performances. But yeah, 20/31 shooting from 3 does tend to boost that scoring average over a short span.

For a short span? He's averaging 27 for the season and his career average is 25. He also has 76 games of 30 points/10 assist or more, ranking 4th all time. He's on pace to lead that all time category.

Not sure about you but i'd rather be a "loser" with $207 million and be balding, than have a full head of flowing locks.

I think he would also be number 1 in turnovers per game.
Just goes to show how usage can inflate stats.

Career turnovers from that list: Magic Johnson 3.2, Isiah Thomas 3.8, John Wall 3.7, Jason Kidd 2.9, Chris Paul 2.3, John Stockton 2.3, Trae Young 4.2.

Trae is definitely a turnover machine, but some of those PGs weren't far behind. Trae also lead the nation in assist in college. Was his usage inflated there too?

Better to die a hero then live long enough to be the villain.

We all remembered the cool as ice hero that shrugged off the intentional shoulder bump, raining 3's and icing playoff games vs the Knicks.

But now, Trae Young's villain arc continues.

Is he a true superstar? No.

Is he a franchise player? Yes.

And before you sling stones, there are 30 franchises in the NBA and before you hurl those rocks, you are basically saying Trae Young is not a top 30 player right now in the NBA.

Yes, and? that doesn't contradict anything I said. He's scoring 30.6 ppg over those 5 games it's largely the product of him shooting unsustainable levels from 3. It's quite impressive, but it's not like it'll bear out over the rest of the season or be reliable in a playoff series. Certainly good for Atlanta's record, though.

If he is not named replacement for Randle, Embiid it will be big disgrace.

Bro talk about damning with faint praise.
If that's your standard for being a franchise player then it means less than being an all star. Never mind winning anything, it's not even qualification enough to be called a championship level second option.

At this point it's entertaining to see the lengths of thin-slicing and goal post moving people go through to discredit this one player. Especially against the backdrop of totally ignoring similar faults in other players. Carry on, I guess.

I hear a team can have more then one good player. Can you confirm that?

At least he'll be in good company.

But seriously, turnovers happen when you're a high usage player. *The chart below lists players with most turnovers per game this season. Filled with MVPs and All-NBA Players.

And Trae has the best Assist to Turnover ratio of any of these players.

I brought up the stats, that you seemed to have ignored, to prove that Trae scoring 30 is not an anomaly. In the 20-21 season, he averaged 29.6 ppg. 21-22 season 28.4 ppg. It would be extremely difficult to reach those averages without scoring 30 or more numerous times throughout the season.
