nah, he doesn't deserve it yet and won't unless he a) wins a championship b) has at least 3-4 more very good years.

For sure
Every year after the season I put on a "HoF or not" poll, and he (along with Klay and Draymond) came of it recently-I think they are all in now

The next names up are DeMar, Lowry, Love and Horford

Edit: Minnesota too.

I think Butler has a case for most polarizing non mega star ever. Bulls, Heat, Philly fans for the most part ALL love and adore him but Minnesota, Milwaukee, Boston and New York fans all hate his guts. Then you have the Lebron fans due to their various matchups.

Seems weird to enter the start of a thread to make up a bunch of stuff about a bunch of fan bases.

Not that voters care or understand advanced metrics but LeBron’s career offensive and defensive rating is 116 to 105. Jimmy’s is 123 to 107.

He should backflip into the Hall with a Jheri curl.

He'll make it. Dude is the NBA example of the American dream. Went from a homeless teen, to college basketball, to late first rounder seen as a defensive specialist, to a first option leading an underdog team to finals appearances.

Absolutely not

0-2 in the Finals, which as we all know is the worst thing you can do. Now, if he had missed the playoffs those years instead, maybe we could have a discussion.
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Bench: Leonard Miller, Jett Howard, Markquis Nowell, Kennedy Chandler, Day'Ron Sharpe

So? Stockton and Malone were 0-2 in the Finals, and they are hall of famers. There's more to the basketball hall of fame than nba rings. Butler has a gold medal with Team USA just like they do. Just like Barkley does, and many other all time greats who didnt win a ring. Heck I'd say the Butler led Heat being the 1st Play In team to overcome that and make the Finals in 2020 is hall of fame worthy in itself too. He has an argument.

It don't matter how you perform in the Finals or the playoffs, all that matters is if you win

Losing in the Finals is the worst thing you can do for your legacy, I don't care how good you played.

Reggie was a full blown superstar! Your comparison is way off.

Yes, Jimmy should be in HoF because there are a lot of less deserving players there. Miller isn't one of them by a huge margin.

I know a lot of people hate that the baseball hall is voted on by journalists, but the basketball hall of fame is what you get when it’s basketball people in a committee voting.

They have a lot of respect for each other and are extremely permissive.

Yeah? well the Hall of Fame committee don't agree with you otherwise the men I just mentioned above wouldn't be in there. Butler has an argument whether you're on board with it or not. His resume is great. You also have to remember that the 2020 Miami Heat had a major injury that took away one of its key starters. So it is absolutely ridiculous to just say Butler doesn't belong in there because they didn't win there.

What if the people who vote him in think that player is great? Just because you think that player is only "very good" doesn't make it factual. Especially if a whole committee of voters decides that player deserves to get in over you who is just 1 person with an opinion.

Completely agree. The basketball HOF still admits college coaches into it despite the fact the NCAA Mens league has collapsed in quality over the last 2 decades.

People dislike journalists but they would do a much better job than the current setup

I'm fairly confident DOT is trolling and is making fun of the anti-Lebron argument by using the anti-Lebron argument.

I think he is. He often gets underrated in the media but he's a difference maker on both ends of the court. People often place way too much value on volume stats, which makes Jimmy Butler look underwhelming, but he's much bigger than that.
