Incredible Mavs are still in the game despite missing almost all their open 3s and being 10/18 at FT

Idk how these Wolves will do in the playoffs as far as BBIQ and 4th quarter execution goes but they absolutely have the best matchup of any of the Western conference contenders against the Nuggets. Their defense is legit

I've been in the north when the snow sets in. The howl of wolves isn't a threat. It's the thing you break against. The wolves come because a worthwhile soul deserves a good death .

With a big lead near the end of the DEN game, Ant asked the bench if he could shoot his free throws left handed!
I love that he is still a big kid, and basketball is just fun for him.

It is basically a contest of avoiding the New Orleans Pelicans. As long as Minnesota does not go against that team, they have a legitimate shot at making it to the Finals.

It's easier to score with 8 on 5.

I like Sabonis but he really buries those elbows into defenders chest. Not sure how he gets away with it so often.

A 7-foot-4 human with agility, coordination and guard skills shouldn't be possible. Compare that to somebody like, say, Mark Eaton who looked like he could barely tie his own show and would lose the ball 100/100 if he ever tried a between-the-legs dribble.
Sampson is the only real comp we’ve ever seen, and his career was basically over after 3 seasons. Obviously hoping Wemby doesn’t have the same luck.
Yeah, and while my recollections of Ralph is hazy, I don't ever remember him doing some of the stuff Wembanyama does. Certainly not hitting stepback 3s and sht like that
No, not that, but at least some of that is the game’s evolution; back then C’s almost never took 3s. I think the 3-pointer was only introduced a couple seasons before Samson came in…not old enough to have seen this myself, but everything I’ve read/watched says it was kind of seen as a gimmick and nobody knew how to incorporate it. Certainly bigs weren’t training on taking 3’s, but Sampson’s mid-jumper was a major part of his game.
Sampson was talked about as having guard skills in his 7-4 frame, and would routinely bring the ball up, lead fast breaks, etc. Wemby’s better, imo, but Sampson playing today would play more like Wemby does. Also Sampson came in older, which is another advantage to Wemby, but Sampson was as anticipated, arguably the most heavily recruited HS player in history, three time college player of the year, and was the SI cover boy 6 times in his 4 year college run.
Imo Olajuwon was much better, but it’s hard to really know because his three seasons went Rookie of the Year, All Star and beating the defending champ Showtime Lakers in their absolute prime and going toe to toe with widely considered one of the goat teams of all time before getting injured in the Finals in the first of a string over the next season after which he was a shadow of himself. But he was talked about as a guy who would revolutionize the game and he and Hakeem were so incredible together that there was a Sporting News cover story asking if the league ought to force a separation for the sake of parity and they were the reason the draft lottery was introduced.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

You don't know Mark Jones, the ESPN play by play announcer? And Golden Corral is a national buffet chain that has locations across the country.
Wasn't that serious, man...

There's one near my house, and going in there feels like walking through a portal to another dimension where food and cleanliness have different definitions than in our own.

The Pelicans? All three top teams are trying to position themselves in the playoffs to avoid the Rockets!

I've been exactly once. Never, ever again. The depression and shame was almost palpable, and certainly fresher than the food.

Sabonis gets fourth fouled for a moving screen call when he's pushed into the defender. Brown should have challenged that.

You sure about that? Like luka is dooubled every time down the floor, and still got more points and assists. But if the 1 rebound fox got more outweights it, sure.

Green scores through two uncalled fouls, sheesh.
