Best International players who never played in the NBA

Post#1 » by FreeBird23 » Thu Apr 4, 2024 9:08 am

In the first topic about Europeans players who never played in the NBA, some of you guys named Oscar Schmidt even though he was Brazilian.
So let's see who you have as the best International player (except Americans) who never played in the NBA.

The "better than Jokic" version of Divac or Radja who never arrived in NBA.

Joking, ofc.
For me it's Bodiroga, at least among those who I saw in my lifetime.

Oscar´s best comp is Chris Mullin on steroids (better shot maker and rebounder but worse playmaker). He was Kobe´s childhood idol and Larry Bird was at the stage in his Hall Of Fame introduction

some of these german players were avg at best in europe, i think they would have a hard time in the nba and there was a reason back then why most of them did not make it.

I’ll be honest I don’t know very many of these guys, but to have Okulaja (RIP) listed makes me question some things.

Care to explain why you think some of these guys are the best int’l to never play in NBA? Also, Poirier played for Celtics and 76ers.

From the players listed in the poll, it's Bodiroga.

All of the players listed had very long careers in Europe, and Bodiroga had the best career in Europe of all of the players listed.

But if we are just talking about players that never played in the NBA, and we are including Nick Galis, who was born and raised in the USA, but played a long time in Europe, then that should open up the discussion to other American players that played a long time in Europe, like Wayne Brabender, Walt Szczerbiak Sr., Bob Morse, and Clifford Luyk. They had better careers in Europe than some of the players listed on the poll.

Also, in the list of European players listed here in this poll, some of them didn't have as good of careers in Europe, as guys like Miki Berkovich, Emiliano Rodriguez, Antonello Riva, Janis Krumins, Doron Jamchi, San Epifanio (Epi), Dragan Kicanovic, Drazen Dalipagic, and players like that, that also never played in the NBA.

With all due respect, none of these players should ever be mentioned in such a topic.

Most of these guys weren't good at all even in Europe, I do not get what that list is about, that they played in Germany? those indeed are players I guess. Some did play in the NBA, like Pleiss and Gershon obviously.

They already had hard time in Europe. I did need a reminder Patrick Femerling existed, he and Dirk surely played together. Dirk really had no help, compare to world champions now, almost a good glowup as Canada, maybe even better.
