Celtics and Bucks game set two new records
Free throws attempts: Celtics - 0.
Total free throw attempts: 2 (Celtics 0 and Bucks 2). Is it the league's direction or the two teams were too innocent?

I'm guessing if the refs don't call the ticky tack fouls and dont fall for the foul baiting, and both teams are spamming 3 after 3, we'll get more games like these

Celtics right from the jump were clearly playing to limit injury risk, jacking threes with minimal movement, barely driving and not putting up much defense. That would explain a lot of it. The refs were mailing it in a bit too though.

I looked at the boxscore and for sure thought they made a mistake with the FT column. 2 FTA in a game is crazy. Only 4 fouls called on the Bucks (8 on the Celtics) also has to be some kind of record or at least close to it.

Part of it, wasn't too surprising. One of those teams is the GSW of the East (3 pnt chuckers) take a guess.
Launch from 3 (miss), grab offensive rebound (instead of lay up put backs, dunks, mid range shots), kick it back out! Pass it around the wings/perimeter/top of the key . Launch another 3 until you make it. Rinse and repeat.
One of those teams lead just once in the game ....... after a 3 pnt shot. Led 3-2.
But, ya. How in the world were there only 2 FTs shots total for both teams in that entire game ?! Nuts!

Doc almost ruined it by putting Thanasis into the game in the last minute. He hacked Kornet on a dunk with 19 seconds left, but thankfully the refs let it go.

Ruined it.. so the point was not to shoot any free throws

Neither team played with very much intensity. Played hard, but no intensity. Obviously, no hard fouls. Horford and Porzingis were out for Boston so the Celtics played a very perimeter oriented game. Milwaukee was similar. Lopez helped set a perimeter tone, making four 3-pointers in the first 5:30 of the game. Mazzulla waived the white flag early, with over 6 minutes left in the game, even though Milwaukee was ripe for a comeback after Antetokounmpo left the game.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game, so did the game go by a lot quicker? Without all those trips to the line, it would seem like the game must have flown by.

Pretty nuts actually. I wonder if this is just an anomaly in this "let them play" stretch we've seen since the all star break. Either that or it was just one of those games where both teams are contenders and the playoffs are a few days away.

I get the sense that folks are disappointed with this. This seems awesome to me.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

NBA should use this game as exhibit A for introducing the play through (advantage) foul - sooooo many other sports have.
Non shooting foul committed, ref raises hand (no whistle) if no advantage gained by opposing team, play on - no foul called, ref hand down. If advantage gain by team committing foul, whistle blown foul called.
Shooting foul is the same with one tweak to stop the offensive goating of a ‘shooting foul.’ Ref can determine side out instead of free throws. Example would be offensive player gets D player “in air” jumps into him for free throws. More so if away from basket. Side out for offense. No free throws.
Lower personal foul threshold from 6 to 5.

Silver realizing they set up the rules too far in favor of the offense is now trying to backtrack by having the refs call as little fouls as possible.
I think I just got a flagrant foul for typing that.
