How many rookie seasons have been better than Wembanyama in NBA history?

It’s not even the best rookie season in his franchise’s history. That would be David Robinson (a 24-year old Robinson, but still) Fun fact, guess who averaged more blocks their rookie year?

You can’t compare a roided out 24yo Robinson with Wembanyama tho

That was one of the best rookie seasons ever though.
I don't see how it being the same franchise diminishes what Wemby is doing.

Using Joker and Luka as European player references, I've determined that Wemby's ideal playing weight in the NBA will eventually be 415 pounds.

I agree, that's the more logical question to ask.

I can think of several players off the top of my head, all-timer greats to be sure, who have had better rookie seasons. D-Rob, Duncan, Kareem, Wilt were all definitely better. If you dug down you could probably find a few more. Of course all those guys were older, some significantly older.

For players in their age 19/20 season, since Wemby began this campaign at 19 and ended it at 20, it's really only sophomore Lebron who has an argument. Even then you could make a case for Wemby based on defense.

David Robinson isnt the type of dude to take steroids if you know anything about him. With him it was genetics and lifting weights

Facts. He's the last guy taking steroids. David Robinson had a very humble, honest, and conservative lifestyle.

Plus he didn't play against pro's for 3 to 4yrs before his NBA rookie season.

None, in that case. Luka and LeBron are 2nd and 3rd.

This is going to be controversial but LaMelo is 4th.

Robinson is a Christian dude who believes his body is his temple etc. He also came out of the Navy and they're strict.

Plenty of Christians who treat their bodies like a temple who were proven to do steroids, btw. Not saying that’s true about Robinson but it’s irrelevant

Shaq's rookie season was pretty good : 23.4pts, 13.9rbs , 1.9ast, 3.5blks, 56% FG
Led his team to 41 wins (Orlando was a 21 wins team the year before)

II'd say LeBron, Shaq and Duncan are the only ones better in the last 30 years.

Don't disagree, but I'm sure he fed his temple with the right supplements in the free wheeling 90s.

Wemby's rookie season is definitely not the best in history. But for his age? You bet it is.

Tim Duncan was 5th in MVP voting his rookie season.
