Best 4 players over the past 25 years excluding bigs

Post#1 » by One_and_Done » Wed Apr 17, 2024 1:12 am

If you were building a team today, and you get the guy for their whole career, who would be the Mt Rushmore of foundational building blocks to build around?

Note: this is not about 4 guys playing on the same team, it's about the 4 best guys to build around.

Did you just make this thread to see everyone say Lebron? Because obviously the answer would be Lebron.

You have SGA on the list, but no D Wade?

Cos SGA is better. To be fair though, I was pretty torn on including Kobe over Wade or Harden. Personally I'd build over both the latter. That's what the other option is for though. Jimmy Butler was another tough exclusion.

Over the past 25 years, SGA is better than D Wade??
Shai has had like 2 notable seasons, whereas Wade won 3 titles. Wade's career value >>> Shai's career value to date, and it's not even close.
If you're just going for peak, then put D Rose on there too.

Also, if Giannis is a big, so are KD & Lebron.

It was alot easier to put 2 time MVP Nash on the list than dubious 1 time MVP winner Kobe.

Kobe was lucky he had better teams around him, and got to be Shaq's Robin for 3 rings. Rings are not the measure of individual ability, unless you have Hondo and Sam Jones over Kobe too.

He won 2 without Shaq.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, without offence I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

He had the best team that year. Kobe was on the title favourites at least 10 times and only had a 50% success rate. If Nash had Kobe's teams he'd have alot of titles too.

Kobe had Amare/Marion/Joe Johnson he would still have 2 titles possibly more.

Are you telling me with a straight face Nash was better than Kobe? :o
