Klay's next team and contract

Post#1 » by dygaction » Wed Apr 17, 2024 4:35 am

He just trashed his value and lost tens of millions.

Would he be able to command full MLE? 76ers have lots of cap space and he might be able to get lots of open 3s playing off Maxey and Embiid.

Yes he'll get the full MLE. he's still a rotation player. He's just old and not anywhere near what his salary was this season.

TBH i didn't think he was really good during their title run either back in 2022. I think he ends up on the lakers or warriors. I know orlando is looking into him.

Warriors, 2 years/40 mils out of the respect and line up with Curry's contract.

He'd be better on a team that can actually pressure the rim and bend the defense a bit. Klay can still knock down open shots, the problem is on this current Warriors roster there's too many offensively incompetent players on the floor at the same time and the shots aren't open.

It won’t happen but he should honestly consider retiring. It’s sad watching him like this and I fear it’ll only continue to look worse as he gets older. Fantastic career nonetheless.

I’m sure he’s gonna get a contract and stick around for a couple more years though so I hope he can find himself a nice spot and get into a nice groove for the remainder of his career

His injury and speed of aging are concerning, but maybe the name of recognition and experience will get him paid.

Dude is a non factor basically just a name at this point.

Achilles injury really took his shot accuracy away.

Lakers for veteran minimum. Comes home to play in front of his dad every night for his dad’s old team.

I'd take him in Philly to shoot wide open 3s but honestly he looks cooked.

wherever he goes he shouldnt be more than a bench player that gives you 12-18 minutes a night... Maybe some extended playing time if his 3 is going down that night...

Klay Thompson averaged 17.9ppg and shot 38% from 3 and 92% from the line. He will be offered an MLE at a minimum. Remember Harrison Barnes' poor playoffs. That doesn't keep guys who are productive during the regular season from getting paid.
