I've only spot-watched infrequently, so I'm not going to claim either way, but you see people here call out the hammy regularly. As I said, if he sat even longer, his team may have missed the playoffs and those complaining right now wouldn't have anything to complain about.

If he has been playing this whole time to help his team make the playoffs, that's one thing. If he's been doing it for supermax mostly, pretty unwise decision given it made his play nose dive to the point where he won't even make all NBA, and now he's supposedly not right to be able to perform. Maybe it's both, we don't know. Seems like he could've rested a couple more weeks back when it originally happened and he still could've hit the 65 threshold.

Earlier this season, he was getting dark horse MVP candidate talk. So he was overrated then. I don't think he is anymore.

He is a 6'6 trae young ( maybe a bit more efficient from 3). Solid player but has been severely overated for a bit now.

His defence for someone with his size and length is pathetic

Slander! Trae had bad stretches, but never looked like a deer in headlights in the playoffs.

Yes. I'll admit, I was on the hype train earlier in the season, but it looks like he's suffering from Ben Simmons syndrome right now. Or maybe he was never that good and his earlier performance was just a hot streak. In any case, current Hali isn't even a top-20 player.

Maybe teams figured him out, maybe the nagging injury hurt him, maybe losing Hield and Mathurin and integrating Siakam has thrown off his style, who knows. But he was been sub-all-star level this last half of the season. He can’t really create his own shot, his defense is still shoddy, and he is not rising to the occasion in the playoffs. Hopefully he will put in the work and get back to what he was in the first half of the season.

No Trae is a better scorer.

Hali before the Siakam trade was putting up 24/12 on 50/41 splits…. after the trade he’s at 16/10 on 45/32 splits. It is the injury or fit with Siakam maybe?

Hasn't been the same since the injury. Had a pedestrian performance in round 1, looks worse in round 2. It's a shame, because he was one of the best players in the first two months of the year.

Overrated, Kyrie Irving should have been on Olympics team, not him.

But therein lies the rub. This is the time of the year that matters most. There's a bunch of dudes that look all-world the first few months of the season. Then they get figured out.

By all accounts, he suffered a serious hamstring injury that probably should've taken him out longer. However, he had $50M on the line, so he toughed it out and hasn't been the same.

Not buying the injury excuse. He played in the ASG when he was supposedly still injured, so why didn't he sit the ASG out?

So now we have a new excuse that the fit with Siakam is impacting him? Lol

Jeez, nothing can ever be his fault, can it?!

Bottom line is this: Hes just not as good as people thought he was (myself included) and the early season numbers were just a hot streak. The dude has been figured out.

Can't expect him to play like an All-NBA guy when there isn't a supermax contract on the line :D
You guys still under the impression these guys give a crap about winning? lol
Some do, but many care more about the money and the individual glory, things like supermax contracts and playing in All Star games.

Trae can put up more than 6 shots in a playoff game, better at drawing fouls and commands more defensive attention

I guess. For me, it's been too long to still blame the injury.

But, if you're right, he's paying the cost of chasing the bagg, so IIWII. His postseason performance will and should overshadow the early season stuff.

And, to be clear, he's not dead yet. He's still got a chance to turn things around.

The bum is nothing but a scared clown...

I detest watching this guy play, talk, laugh...everything.

Can't believe he's here for years to come.
