How did Kobe turn the Lakers into a circus when he was mostly injured and LA was playing with very subpar players in the last few years?

Demanded too much money for them to put a team around him, after driving off Dwight Howard & ant other potential FAs with his lack of self awareness; then forced the team to treat him like a star in his final seasons despite being washed. It was a circus.

This just feels like typical hatorade to invoke Kobe's name into this. Dwight Howard was not a good fight with many teams post Orlando until he finally settled into a role and won a chip with LA. Yes Kobe took the money that made it difficult to go after free agents but that’s on Lakers management as he was more than entitled to that money.

If Steph wants the max, good on him. If Steph wants to take a pay cut also good on him. But at the end of the day, the NBA is a business and these star players like Kobe, LeBron and Steph generate billions for their teams, so why shouldn't they get more of a cut?

It's very honorable that Dirk took so many pay cuts after the championship run but look how well that worked out for him.

Kerr is already talking about Klay's minutes for next season, and then this below, sounds like they're running it back

He does not have great value. He is past his prime. He should retire as a Warrior.

I doubt he asks out he already has a few rings with the Warriors he might try to win one more but even if he doesn't I don't think Curry will be very upset about that.

Now if the Warriors insist on going super young and trade everyone but Curry, next year or the one after then sure maybe he asks out in that case. Very few players are lucky enough to win 4 and some that were arguably better than Curry in the history of the NBA don't have 4 or more.

And the rest of the NBA celebrates. No need to worry about the Warriors then.

Steph deserves better and he won't get that if the Warriors are not aggressive on the trade front (meaning shipping Green and/or Klay). Unfortunate for the Warriors.

IT absolutely IS hatorade. And, it's ignorant to boot. Kobe DID NOT demand "too much money for them to put a team around him". Laker management only gave him that last huge end-of-career contract AFTER they failed to sign/attract any big name stars to come over. It was either use-it-or-lose-it money. And, as previously stated, Kobe definitely deserved that money for all his years of sacrifice and service.

Kobe made it very clear he wasn't taking less. He also was a massive hindrance at their pitch meetings. Who could forget his infamous "come be my Tyson Chandler" comment to Dwight.

So what IF he said that to Dwight? At the time of that alleged exchange, Kobe was still in his prime, and Pau was his clear number 2. So, yeah, Dwight's main duties would be defense, rebounding, and catching lobs. He wasn't going to be getting the Shaq treatment. So, miss me with the boo-hoo story.

And, you still wrong about the contract money situation, so....just willful ignorance on your part.

It's a dumb thing to say to a team mate your franchise needs to avoid losing for nothing. You may be shocked to hear this, but Dwight was a pretty big deal still in 2013; much more so than Pau. Talking to an all-nba team mate like that shows less than zero self-awareness.

What are you talking about? When this alleged conversation took place, Dwight was NOT a teammate. This supposedly took place while he was still with Orlando, but trying to maneuver his way to Brooklyn. The Lakers were interested in trading for him. It didn't happen.
