I need to see the voting results.

Last night I saw some stat that was among the publicly confirmed votes, Monk was ahead 62-60.

Reid probably won by like just a few points.

Monk did well, but I'm in support as I've always complained about 6th main primary being the "highest ppg off the bench" award and guys who give as or even more impactful but lower scoring production off the bench don't get the same recognition.

it's gotta be because of how good the Timberwolves are in comparison because player for player and production wise, Monk deserved it. NBA awards are always a joke though. This is nothing new

Naz Reid and Monk both got the same amount of 2nd and 3rd place votes.

Reid got 2 more 1st place votes.

That's how close it was.

Naz outshot Monk.

Monk averaged 1.6 ppg more - not a substantial difference when on player shoots 35% from 3 and the other shoots over 41%. Pretty big 2pg gap too.

Naz Reid is the most impactful bench player in the league. The Wolves didn't miss a beat when KAT got hurt.

They put up similar scoring stats but Naz is more efficient and a better defender, so he deserved to win.

So with those results, two voters didn't even have him top 3 on their ballot? Wow. I thought Naz would get the edge after Monk went down late in the season but that was closer than I expected.

Edit: Monk was actually left off the top 3 by 7 voters with Naz being left off top 3 by 5 voters.

To me,Naz was the more impactful player. Monk was very deserving as well however. He was needed more in his role at SG than Reid was for Minny.

Happy to see Reid win it. I always feel like Taj Gibson didn’t get enough love for 6th man and it shouldn’t just be what bench player scores the most points.
