Cancel the in season tournament

Why do people hate it so much? It was a fun little competition in the early part of the season.

Yeah it's a bit of extra fun/intrigue to start the season. Teams/fans just shouldn't take the results too seriously.

I wouldnt guarantee A playoff spot for it, but I would tweak it to make it more important for both players and teams.

For players. Have a 5-player all-tournament team where a player making it counts towards their contract like making all-nba
For teams. Winning franchise gets a non-tradeable 1st immediately following the lottery (So pick #15) and the runner-up gets a pick following the first round(pick #32).

The play in tournament seems good for the league. The IST is kind of a joke but it's not doing anyone harm so I don't see why it matter one way or another.

even if the IST is not predictive of PS success, who cares. it makes a bunch of games in December meaningful at least.

Some people just love to be miserable man, they will complain no matter what. The majority of NBA fans actually hate basketball, that is the one conclusion I have drawn from all these years of watching. It's sad.
