Any player considered a 2010 decade star is losing their series or out

Post#1 » by ChipotleWest » Sat Apr 27, 2024 4:43 am

Lebron, Curry, Durant, Kawhi, Lillard, Harden, Paul George, Chris Paul, Westbrook.

Giannis is out with an injury and his team is losing, Butler is out with an injury.

The only exception is Kyrie, his team has a 2-1 lead.

These guys are mostly in their mid to late 30s. Shouldn't be a surprise.

Kyrie is only 32, he still has a bit of time before age starts to show.

Giannis should not be counted but yes. I'm ready for this new era of star players. Media will be forced to talk about new stories and go to different arenas then the tried and true.

He won an MVP in 2019 and was drafted in 2013. He definitely counts as a last decade star.

Nah, Jordan's prime was just better than Lebron's or anyone's. Kobe Duncan and Shaq were around in the 90's but didn't win anything, until Duncan won in 99 after that guy retired. You said late 90's and they were there.

Its interesting, when I think of a lot of the best players, I still think of these names.

...I don't know...maybe this postseason is somewhat of a passing of the torch.

As amazing as they are, and they are very amazing, I guess I still kind of viewed Ant, Shai, and so on as up and comers. Figured they'd still take a year or two before they would be capable of leading their teams to deep playoff runs...but they are impatient and wanted to go ahead and do it this year it seems.

I think the up and comers have officially taken the torch from the cold, lifeless fingers of LeBron, Durant, Kawhi, and so on. (Okay, they aren't that bad, but I still dislike them.)

Also, I feel like these guys are a lot more likeable than the 2010 stars.

He also won an MVP in 2020, a championship in 2021, a finals MVP in 2021, and is 29.

Does Michael Jordan count as a 80s star? Does LeBron count as a 00s star?

Kobe and Duncan? Are you fried? Kobe was barely 20 LMFAO. Shaq smoked MJ the only time they met with healthy teammates LOL

I can tell you're young because no one that was around during Jordan in the 80's would ask if he was a star. Just because he had no teammates and wasn't winning rings does not mean he was not a star. He literally put the NBA on the global map in the 80's. Also yes Lebron was a 00's star of course. What kind of questions are these?

Jordan had missed nearly two years only coming back for like 20 games in the regular season when Shaq won that series give me a break. It was also the only time Jordan lost a series between 91-98 something Lebron could never get close to touching. That is why you have to say "weak era" because you know nothing Lebron did could ever compare.

Nah, they are only likeable because their stories haven't been written yet.

Hell before the Nuggets won anything and this Timberwolves series we've already got Edwards and Jokic saying anti-LGBT slurs.

Imagine when the media spotlight actually focuses on them when they start winning. Imagine if the TNT/ESPN actually focused on the trash talk Haliburton said to the Bucks(just an example for your team).

Very fair point on the fact their stories haven't been written yet, so entirely possible you are correct. That said, I think its a fairly low bar(for me anyways) to step over for this new crew in terms of likability. I know others love them though, so its all subjective.

I'm not aware of the Edwards/Jokic commnets, so I don't wanna comment on that(and no need to tell me here as it will just derail the thread), but I moreso was referring to their NBA personalities as far as whining, or making ***** moves by forming superteams to win easy Championships.

As far as Haliburton's trash talking, its already out there. Some people like trash talk, others don't, but again, that is different from the formation of player orchestrated super teams and such.

I don’t like any of the new generation of players tbh. Jokic exempted, he’s cool. Wemby is promising. But that’s it when it comes to liking one of them.

They’re all foul seeking, arrogant, and not really interesting people. I suppose the 2010s guys were arrogant as well but there was a palpable humanity and sense of duty to them that a lot of these younger guys don’t have. They’re cocky kids raised on video games and the internet. Trolls in athlete clothing.
