Because they don't like him. And they don't want him ruining what they built. If you want KD to join OKC, make the trade on your favorite video game. It's not happening in real life.

You better be Presti’s son  okay I got ya

So I guess you forgot about how he left the franchise. If you're trolling, just add a disclaimer.

You'd have to send everybody but SGA just to match Durants 50 million dollar salary. SGA + Durant + scrubs is not a contender. Not achilles tear Durant. You do understand there's a salary cap and you can't just trade somebody without matching salary etc... right? Has nothing to do with picks.

Here’s the roster for the Oklahoma City Thunder minus Lu Dort, including their estimated salaries for the 2024-25 season:

1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - $35.86 million
2. Chet Holmgren - $10.88 million
3. Josh Giddey - $8.35 million
4. Jalen Williams - $4.78 million
5. Kevin Durant - $49.35 million
6. Dario Saric - $3 million (added him)
7. Jaylin Williams - $2 million
8. Isaiah Joe - $1.5 million
9. Olivier Sarr - $1 million
10. Keyontae Johnson - $1 million

The total payroll for these players is approximately $117.72 million. With an NBA salary cap projected at $141 million for the 2024-25 season, this leaves the Thunder with about $23.28 million in remaining cap space.

Knicks are the obvious option.

Yeah it's a ridiculous notion if you look at the contracts. They would have to send everybody except SGA pretty much just to match Durant's salary. No way in hell is that happening. Easy yes if I'm Phoenix, but it's hell no if I'm OKC.

They have a ton of capspace so they could almost just absorb Durant straight up without sending hardly anyone back. That doesn't make any sense for the suns though because they would want actually solid players back since they don't control their own picks going forward. That is where any Durant to OKC trade is dead on arrival because I think the most OKC would give up from their current core is Giddey and Wallace plus picks.

He should go back to the Warriors. People already dislike him because of it anyway. That fan base would welcome him. Finish your career there while he still has something to offer.

Durant forcing his way to OKC is reasonable.

NBA fans, NBA media and the NBA itself has a ring counting culture. Realgm treats players who don't win rings as losers. The NBA strongly encourages fans to count rings when evaluating players. NBA media discussionns frequently focus on rings in player evaluation.

People respond to incentives. As long as the ring counting culture exists, players are going to force their way to better clubs.

May sound crazy but KD doesn’t make the Warriors a contender in 2024. That ship has sailed.

I don't think KD takes any team from non-contender to contender in 2025.

Yeah especially an old, slow, washed up non-contender like Golden State

Guys like him, Bron, and Steph simply don’t move the needle anymore and impact winning fr. Father Time has arrived

Which ever team beats him or which ever team wins the chip. So I'm going to go with either the T Wolves or the Nuggets. We know he's soft and he's going to band wagon any winning team he can

Sorry, but add KD to OKC and they're the best team in the league
Giddy, Dieng, #12 and the Utah/Miami picks
Suns get 2 young pieces, 3 picks and save A TON of cash

They also deal Booker (BRK works) and start over

I think he's in Phoenix for at least one more year and they re-shuffle the supporting cast. But if he was going to try to leave...does he try to get to the Knicks like he should have done originally? It would be funny but also make some sense.

Hot take: Clippers and Suns swap KD and Kawhi

I don't even think it makes sense it would just be funny

Cmon bro KD has failed, but trading him for a injury prone aging Kawhi makes no sense for PHX.
