It's ok to have a bad draft pick based on upside. It's just stupid to waste one with a zero upside player.

Bronnys game is better suited for the NBA game being a Defender and Spot up shooter. Plus it gives the Lakers 3 yrs of LeBron James, of course you wouldn't want that lmao

Dude...he's going to be there in the second round. Wasting a first is the dumbest thing I've seen on this board.

Yeah until a team simply drafts him 10-16 to attempt to hope to steal LeBron away if he thinks he can contend there with his son vs Lakers drafting a nobody at #17

If Lakers lose LeBron for nothing because they didn't draft Bronny, I can guarantee AD will ask out of L.A and now they lost both their Stars because you want to hate and exaggerate how Bronny truly is smh

Some players are late bloomers and they could get a steal if he grows a bit and trains with NBA trainers and his Dad 24/7

You would think the Lakers would trade that pick to try upgrade that roster/get a legit 3rd option.

Using their first pick on Bronny would be the most foolish/irresponsible thing The Lakers could do.

Just because you don't want it to happen doesn't mean it's true. This draft is the weakest draft in a long time

Pick Bronny and keep LeBron and run it back or draft/trade that pick and let him leave because of your imaginary savior from this 2024 draft/trade for that pick is ridiculous

Lebron coming back shouldn't be conditional on whether they draft Bronny.

Lakers could have had Jamie Jaquez Junior, Brandin Podziemski or Cam Whitmore in last year's draft but went for Pelinka's sentimental 'pick'

If the Lakers want to make a trade for a big name this off season, your 2024 pick has to be part of any trade deal, given your not exactly got an abundance of assets to barter with anyway

How was it a sentimental pick?

Either way, JHS looks like a major mistake and Bronny is a similar player profile who would also be a wasted pick. They'll buy a 2nd rounder and draft him then.

And what if a team is willing to gamble on Bronny in the 1st round and Lakers lose him?

Now what happens in your genius plan

You okay?

Then Bronny goes plays for a team that LeBron likely very must won't want to play for and LeBron can move on his from his dream of playing with his son and playing against.. which he's said he also wouldn't mind doing.

Nice so now he won't have power to help Bronny Grow as a player with his personal trainers and Lakers staff.
Lakers would give Bronny minutes to let him play during the season vs weaker teams to watch him play with his Dad and make their Star happy!!

Plus now Bronny has to leave his whole family and friends that are in Los Angeles & Rot on the bench with the wizards or Pistons lmao

You really do have such a great idea, it might just work lol

Do you not remember the Ingram/Lonzo/Kuzma Lakers that we're the worst team in the NBA that missed the playoffs 6 season in a row?

they were 19-21 y/o kids entering their 2nd and 3rd seasons in the NBA when Lebron arrived that needed to develop. Had he just come to play basketball and not been the G.M. those kids might have developed into a championship caliber core alongside Lebron. Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Caruso, KCP, Zubac is quite a bit of young talent. Surely a player of Lebron's supposed leadership and talent could have helped mold them right?

Yeah you're right they should've just kept those player over getting a Prime AD lol

Why trying to win a title when you can raise the kids

Would a team get blackballed from the rest of the league if they screw the Lakers and pick Bronny before them just to try and get LeBron?

Do you remember when the Lakers beat Denver 4-1 in 2020? Now look at those same Denver Nuggets have beaten the Lakers in two straight series.

Do you remember when the Pistons beat the Bulls three straight series in the 80's and everyone was saying that Jordan was not a leader and was just a scorer?

Now lets look at the Lakers future presently...sure looks bright, I'm glad the Lakers do not have any young talented stars or draft picks, that is how you build a dynasty. Those Warriors got lucky drafting Curry, Klay, Draymond, and Harrison Barnes why would anyone want to copy that method. Lebron brings titles!.....

Ah yes more ring hopping for the king. I donā€™t see a good option for him out there. Heā€™s not going to place like Oklahoma letā€™s be real. He wants spotlight preferably warm weather and nice beaches. Makes the most sense for him to stay with the lakers. Not gonna win any rings with the lakers but will still have that large support of the biggest fanbase in the nba.

Nobody in the draft is unknown. We're talking about the 17th pick for crying out loud.
