What do you think about Andris Biedrins?
Well last night he was just a beast, 26 rebounds 10 points. What do you think of him? Do you think he'll be in the allstar in the next comming years? Hes leading the league in FT% and is only 21 years old. He can run and has soft hands which passing the ball to him is easy.
Thoughts?

If he can add a consistent 12 to 15 foot shot and maybe a post move or two, he could be a future all-star. But right now every basket he gets either comes off of an all-star caliber guard setting him up (Baron or Monta) or on a putback. He literally has no offensive skills.
He has incredible hands for a big guy and is a good defender and rebounder. He's quick, but he may lose quickness if he ever adds the bulk needed to be an offensive force from the post. I think you can build a team around him and Monta, but they have a lot of things they could work on to improve their games.

Yet both teams each had 48 rebounds thats the funny thing. Biedrins looks like he is going to follow the Camby path of development to me. Also dont be fooled about the FG%, even people like Curry can lead the league in that category.
Its also funny Salami, but Bosh will never be the rebounder Randolph is. Not bad for a man who cant even jump...

Yeah lets throw in his first two years where he averaged 6 and 17 minutes in those years. You dont think that those two years throw the numbers off a little bit do you?

first of all Bosh>>>Randolph in every aspect of the game other then maybe an arsenal of post moves, but Bosh has been in the league for only so long.
And personally I think Biedrins is a product of being the only true big man in the Warriors lineup. Theres no one else to rebound the ball for that team and they were playing New York, where no one rebounds the ball outside Lee and he can't get off the bench.
I do think he's a decent big man, will probably play in an all-star game or two, but as of right now, I haven't seen anything out of him that screams out he's going to be a great player.

Yet I still provided my comments on how I felt about Andris. So how did I directly ruin this thread. Im allowed to defend my team without completely ruining a thread am I not? All I was pointing out that it is harder to get a rebound against Randolph then it is Bosh.

I've wanted Andris on the Raptors since the '04 draft and I think he'll absolutely be an All-Star calibre player sooner rather than later. That said, GS has a 10+RPG guy most years and as mentioned, that could be a product of their system. Looking at the guys though (Fortson, Murphy, Dampier, now Biedrins) I just think one of the best things that management's done is consistently look to address rebounding needs because teams that jack up so many shots will surely have them.
It's probably about the same. Both are double-digit guys but Bosh is quicker/rangier and Randolph is wider/stronger. It totally depends on the opposing player and maybe even on the indivisual rebound.
Curry leading the league in FG% is what got him that obscene contract. Leading the league in FG% is a huge accomplishment no matter how you do it. When you get a lot of tip-ins and dunks, you take a pounding.
