phoenix purposely losing to face lakers?

Post#1 » by tmacformvp07 » Thu Mar 6, 2008 4:40 am

just a theory, maybe a stupid one but i think that the suns are losing on purpose so they can face lakers in first round.

there's lotta history between them and with shaq added to phoenix and kobe being MVP by the end of the season this one would be a dog fight that i think would go to last seconds of game 7 for the series to be decided.

If they were doing that, they are risking a lot just to play the Lakers instead of playing an easier team. They would be fighting hard just to keep the eighth seed because thats how hard it will be to get the eighth seed this season. Highly doubt they are doing that.

too early to start losing purposefully.

drop 3 more games and they could be facing the nba draft lottery.

phoenix just isn't that good anymore.

Ok so even if they faced the Lakers and even if they managed to beat them 4 times out of a 7 game series don't you think they would regret it facing the Mavs, Hornets, Spurs with no home court for the next 2 series ?

I might sound like a homer here, but why would ANY team "tank" to face the Lakers in the playoffs? I wouldn't want to face them in a seven game series, ESPECIALLY with Bynum back.

there is no easier team. Hornets or Jazz are not a cake-walk for the Suns. And they could beat the Suns too. But what would be a nightmare for the Suns is playing the Spurs in the first round.

That absurd. The Suns are lost. Even D'Antoni said they don't want to face the Lakers in the playoffs.

even if for some bizarre reason they wanted to give up home court to open with the lakers, they would still go all out to win tonight and keep some distance from the #9 team.

The suns were almost swept by the Lakers this season and never faced us healthy. So why would they want to face the Lakers in the playoffs?

if they continue to "tank" they are going to be on vacation when comes playoff times or else it's the spurs they are going to face for 5 games at most.

I don't know, maybe because we've beaten you the last two years?
