This is a GREAT idea

Post#1 » by raptorsfan_04 » Tue Feb 16, 2010 10:00 pm

I don't remember who I am stealing this idea from but why doesn't Lebron and his people put together an hour special to announce who he's going to sign with? Now I know some people wouldn't watch it but what if the hour special went through each team and explained why he wasn't signing with them as well as justifying the team he'd be signing with? Along with this it could hold behind the scenes footage of Bron on the bargaining table as well as conversations with players and management. Who says THIS would get massive ratings across the board?

he should arrange a big meeting thing in the cavs stadium come out with a big smile on his face the place packed everyone cheering and the whole event heavily implying he's announcing he's gonna resign with the cavs

then Lebron picks up the mike and goes "guess what?"

"IM GOING TO NEW YORK!!"

then he flips two birds while laughing his ass off and strolls out

I think it is a horrible idea. Sounds boring as hell. It should be pretty obvious on why he wouldn't choose about 25 of those teams. You don't need a hour long special to figure that one out. Only his fanboys who look up to him would get wood over that.

You're telling me every Knick/Cavalier/Casual NBA fan wouldn't be watching that? The future of our league making the biggest decision of his career? I think it easily eclipses 30 million viewers.

It might get a lot of ratings but it will also make him the least popular player in the league

It'd be pretty awesome. You could then have a split screen of Cavs and Knicks fans with the losers realizing their franchise is screwed beyond belief

You do know that the finals between the Lakers and Celtics 2 seasons ago only averaged 15 million viewers, right?

No way in hell are twice that many going to watch Lebron telling everyone why he didn't go to the T-Wolves or Clippers.

Making negotiations public... no one would win out in that scenario.

Who gives a **** why he chooses to not go to a team.

Or you know, he could just have a press conference after he signs to explain why he signed with said team, like every other **** player in the league. And guess what, it'll be broadcasted on ESPN just the same, and will probably last 30-60 min too!

I think it's cool and it's something I would watch in the offseason. A LeBron James reality TV show and it has 30 episodes and in each episodes he goes to everyone's training camp and he has discussions with different players so you see him play and then afterwards he's in like a room with Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith and that team's best player(s) and they talk. At the end of the 30 episodes he will have a live finale where every city will have a box large enough for LeBron James in the middle of their arena and then when the clock strikes at like 8:11 (20:11) all the boxes open and then you see LeBron James in the box with a basketball and then he races down the court and does a tomahawk dunk.

Now that you think of it the 30 training camps thing sounds like a totally do-able idea for a reality TV show to reel in some $$ for the NBA. I'll volunteer to be the guy.

I think thats a Simmons' idea. I would definitely watch that.

Another Lebron realated Simmons' idea (actualy someone sent it to him in a mailbag):

What if Lebron decided to sign one year deals for the MLE, each time with the favorite to win the ship? He could win a ring every year untill he is 35 or something. That would be crazy awsome, but also weird and not fun for Lebron haters.

The MLE has to be at least 2 years to start with.

Won't it be bad enough that if he signs elsewhere, i'll have to suffer through every sports outlet talking about little else for 3 months?

I highly doubt that.

you had me up to the "guess what" part.

lebron picks up the mic, introduces jayz who brings out alicia keys to reprise empire state of mind, in a double **** to both the cavs and the knicks.
