Current Anthony Edwards or Peak Pippen, who is the better player?

Edwards has had an 11-game run in the Post-Season better than what we saw from Pippen.

Pippen had many Regular Seasons better.

I think this is a question best reserved for after the season ends.

If Edward keeps performing like this then he merits debates against Tracy McGrady and possibly even Wade and Kobe.

But I agree he is playing far above his regular season level.

If ANT can translate his past 2 playoff performances into RS play going forward, then he's clearly better.

Forget Pippen, I’m ready to compare him to the other guy in Chicago based on this postseason so far. Obviously, means very little until we see how it finishes. Through 9 games last year Devin Booker appeared to be having one of the best scoring postseasons of all time.

Thus far it’s Pippen but if Edwards does the unthinkable and goes all the way he’s reaching 06 Wade territory and the answer would obviously be him.

Player capable of leading a team to a title = always better than a player not capable of leading a team to a title / second banana.

Pippen is my all time favorite player, but he couldn't do what Edwards is doing now-no way

Not really a given that Ant could do everything Pippen did either. I don't think that's a valid argument tbh. I think there's a case for Ant here but its not really that simple.

Scoring the most points really isn't the same as leading a team.

Yeah no question Edwards is a superior primary scoring option. Just as there is no question, Pippen is a superior defender and playmaker. I mean there are some mediocre players who can score better than Pippen did. But just because they can doesn't remotely mean they are better players.

Just a tough comparison because of how differently they play and how much value typically gets assigned to first option types. If Edwards really becomes a guy capable of being a first option on a contender consistently this will be him. But we just don't have enough data on that yet for me to take him over a guy with the career of Scottie.
