it's humorous, especially since argentina is a primarily white country(estimated around 97% white) comprised of mostly spanish and italian(which im assuming ginobli is) immigrants.

same people who think ginobli isn't white probably think pau gasol is mexican. people from spain are also generally white ;]

Joe Alexander easily. Even though he's a terrible basketball player.

realgm = where people think there are 0 white people in Latin America

let me guess, you don't think there are any black people there too? better tell Horford, Nene, etc

Many people in the United States seem to be under the impression that "Latino" is a term describing one's race, instead of a generic name for anyone coming from a country in the Spanish-speaking world. Go figure. :dontknow:

A lot of people are posting international.

Blake Griffin or is he considered black? :-?

You just came up with a theory, convinced yourself it was true, and then presented it as a fact. You have no proof whatsoever that this is what they did or what they are thinking.

Rudy F.
Steve Nash - not in the typical basketball sense of high vertical and what not but the guy is pretty quick and would probably destroy every1 in one of those crazy endurance tests they do.

I just dont think Joe Alexander is as athletic as some people. He's a physical specimen, but he moves so mechanically. I guess when I think of VERY ATHLETIC, I think of fluidity.

Tom Chambers was the first name that came to my mind.

Not a huge fan of youtube clips, and there's definitely more to being an athlete than hops. But Tom could get up about as well as anybody in the league when he was playing. Not all that flamboyant, but he was getting chin up to the rim.

Dan Marjerle could get over the rim pretty well. So could Rex Chapman and Brent Barry. Danny Ainge had a cup of coffee in the majors, and was a great high school football player if I recall correctly. And yes, Ginobili -- who is of straight Italian descent.

In terms of the other, less-respected qualities like endurance and hand-eye coorination, Hondo and Nash are about as good as they get. Jerry West was another one in this category. He once shot a 58 or 59 in golf, which takes tremendous athletic skill -- not running or jumping, but hand-eye coordination and touch.

e idea that "athleticism" = "hopsJohn Havlicek, Bill Walton, Billy Cunningham, Jerry West, just to name a few.

This idea that white players are automatically stiff is ludicrous, but a lot of the posters here just make that ridiculous assumption based on the idea that athleticism is limited to hops (which is why the opinions of a quite a few of them aren't worth much)

Havlicek in particular might have been the match of anyone in the history of the game in terms of overall athleticism. Walton may have had the quickest move to the basket of any five to ever play the game; cunningham could match any player in the history of the game in terms of hops; West was maybe just a tiny bit behind Hondo overall as an athlete and had a better shooting touch to boot,

Any of these guys could compete with any player you care to name in terms of overall athletic ability.

No one has mentioned Bobby Jones. Guy had a motor like Lance Armstrong and has dunked on more people per minute than anyone else I've seen in the classic games I've watched. Listed at 6-9, he moves like he's 6-4 or 6-5.

Bobby Jones was great, too. Very underrated, period.

Also, Billy Cunningham, the Kangaroo Kid. Not sure I've even seen a highlight, but from everything I've read he was a tremendous leaper.

Arvydas Sabonis in Europe needs to be mentioned, but he was never athletic in the NBA.
