Who was better last season, Kobe or Nash?

Nash:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... hst01.html

key box score stats: 31.6 mpg, .532 fg%, .390 3p%, 10.7 apg, 12.5 ppg

key adv stats: .625 TS%, 20.3 PER, 19.6 USG%, ORtg 115, DRtg 110

team results: 33-33, 10th seed, missed playoffs

--------------------

Kobe:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... nko01.html

key box score stats: 38.5 mpg, .430 fg%, .303 3p%, 4.6 apg, 27.9 ppg

key adv stats: .527 TS%, 21.9 PER, 35.7 USG% (led league), ORtg 105 , DRtg 106

team results: 41-25, 3rd seed. 2nd round exit

-----------------------

offensively looks like its decidedly in Nash's favor but does Kobe's defense put him over the top?

Nash for me. He almost led Gortat and a bunch of role players to the playoffs. He also anchored a top 10 offense with not alot of offensive talent.

I'll go with Kobe , 10th seed is not close the playoffs . Kobe always put a string of 40 point games together as well.

If Kobe played less minutes and had an actual back up I'm sure his stats would look more impressive. Even as they are I'd still take him since that team had a epically bad bench and someone had to take the extra and bail-out shots. I don't think having an inept coach and system is really means to take too much away from a player.

Ultimately I think Nash is getting some extra recognition just based on his name for last year. His shooting numbers were still very impressive but watching him it was obvious he had declined and truthfully I think someone like Calderon could give comparable production and yet no one would ever give him any recognition.

Kobe with accolades and all had better overall year. If Nash had made the playoffs. I would certainly lean that way.The team didn't even finish 9th.

Probably Nash.

He was a huge + for his team while Kobe was a cancer for most of the season and at the very end.
He had his impact fairly muted due to his ball dominance and inefficiency/inconsistency although some people will still drool over his box scores and claim he is a super-star still.

Both of them are defensive liability's at this point although Nash is probably worse.

All-NBA First Team. All-Defense Second. Top 5 MVP Voting < Fringe All-Star Reserve?

Key box score stats? How about using common sense? Or is that asking too much?

Lifetime Achievement award number 1, Lifetime Achievement award number 2, and Lifetime Achievement Award Number 3 vs Fringe All Star Reserve. Pretty close.

Ehh, Kobe. Nash was undeniably impressive last year nearly taking the Suns to the playoffs, but if he was better last year when both of their stats were a bit watered down, then he was better when they were both in their primes' too, and IMO that isn't the case.

The lottery?!
Holy hyperbole Batman, the worse result Nash ever had in Phoenix is a barely below .500 40-42 season and you talk about lottery? Check the numbers before making up ****.

couldn't even manage to get his team to the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons. pretty pathetic.

is nash even a top 5 pg at this point?

deron
cp3
rondo
parker
westbrook

kobe
FAR,FAR better scorer
Far better defender
Much better rebounder
Much better ball-theif
Much better at getting to the line
Commands much more defensive attention
FAR better stamina. played 39 MPG last year compared to nash's 32.
4.7 APG is second to all non-PG's behind only lebron.

nash doesn't have a argument.

and the only reason kobe's 2012 TS% was only at league-average is because of the completely new coaching staff, new offensive system,no training camp, no other play-makers beside himself, and the terrible spacing caused by the combo of pau/bynum+ terrible 3-pt shooting. which is why he had a 56% TS when bynum or pau were off the court.

this isnt close at all.

and?
Nash had 5-7 players better then Sessions
Kobe is more important to his teams defense then Nash is
scoring load is more then Nash as well

replace Nash with Kobe I'm confident they make the PS
