Which point guards were better than Mvp Rose, following 2011

Post#1 » by GSP » Mon Apr 14, 2014 7:32 pm

So from seasons 2012, 2013, 2014 which point guard years were better than 11 Rose? If u think a Pg was better in more than one of those seasons use those multiple years for that player. For example Cp3 13 and 14

Only Chris Paul and Stephen Curry. All seasons of CP3 since 2011, plus this and last year's Curry. 2011 Deron before the trade to New Jersey, too.

Rondo sure as heck isn't better than Rose, and I also can't see how Westbrook is decisively better than 2011 Rose. They are basically the same, but Rose was slightly more efficient and smarter. They're even, to me.

CP3: 2012, 2013, 2014
Westbrook: 2013, 2014
Curry: 2013, 2014

Questionable ones in italics.

That's it. Y'all are really starting to underrate Derrick Rose. Maybe he wasn't MVP in 2011, but guys like Rondo aren't even close.

I don't think Westbrook has been better at any point and I don't see anything that would suggest that he was.

Chris Paul 2012 and 2013. 2014 he missed too many games.

Curry this year.

Lol I had the same idea

Beat me to the punch

Anyways

2012-2014 CP3 ( 13 and 14 were much better than 2012 which is a slight advantage over 2011 rose)
2014 Curry
2013 Westbrook (slightly)

Maybe 2012 Rondo. If only because of his great PS run

I don't see how Westbrook can be put above 2011 Rose. He's never been as efficient, even though he plays next to the best scorer in the game. He's also less disciplined and more prone to mistakes on both ends of the floor.

Wouldn't say any of them. None of those PG's led teams to the #1 seed in the conference as the hands down best player on the team not to mention most missed a significant amount of games.

I'd say 2011 Rose was roughly on the level of 2013 Parker. Every year of CP3 and this year's Curry are clearly better; besides that, not sure I can think of any others.

2012 and 2014 Paul, 2013 and 14 Curry.

'12-'14 CP3, '13 and '14 Curry. Then you've got a couple debateable ones like '13 Parker and '12 Westbrook.

2012 CP3 is better than Rose. He has better WS, WS/48, PER and he didn't lose with HCA in the playoffs to a lower seed

Didn't he? They had HCA vs. Memphis.

Good catch. I was thinking about the year they lost to San Antonio in the playoffs

But But But Derrick Rose lost as the #1 seed!

I think CP3 the last 3 years has been clearly better than Rose. The weight you hold for his health is a different story all-together.
