he's in a dead heat for fifth with Russell and maybe Cousins.

LBJ
KD
AD
CP3

are all better.

His team is tied for 3rd best record in the NBA. I'd say he has a good chance at MVP this year.

I really hate when people do this. Just use their stats, don't post their per 36.

Also, Russ was the consensus better player during the offseason, when he comes back, we will see how this stands up.

I added his real numbers 25/8/6/2 stl in 33 minutes to the OP to placate you.

What makes Dwight better than Marc or Cousins?

He's not bad... Anymore. When he came into the league, he got worked over badly. Drtg was 111 as a rookie (as was Westbrook's), 112 as a soph. It has been going down steadily since then, and he's actually got a 2.1 DBPM, 96 (!!!) Drtg, and respectable opponent PER this year (production per 48 against him is 18.2).

This season is a very small sample size, but the trend over his career is very positive. He has improved every season, and is defending very well to start this year.
1/17/2015 prediction: Curry outplays Westbrook in the 14-15 playoffs.

DRTG is a team stat and the average PER is a 15 so a 18.2 isn't respectable. Small sample size tho.

All I am saying is, put stats aside. I am taking Westbrook everytime over Curry if I am trying to win a championship. Let's see Curry try and guard Westbrook in the playoffs this year.
    PG: Westbrook/Jackson/Smith
    SG: Roberson/Morrow/Lamb
    SF: Durant/Jones/Lamb
    PF: Ibaka/Collison/McGary
    C: Adams/Perkins

He's not in the first tier (LBJ/Durant/AD) but he's probably at the top of the second tier, ahead of guys like Dwight, Harden, CP3, DMC, healthy Russ (maybe), healthy Rose (maybe), Dirk (maybe), and Lillard (maybe).

So top 5 sounds right.

Some folks are overrating Westbrook's defense. He may be a more "intense" defender, but he gambles for steals a lot, and he's not always successful. Curry does it, too, just not to the extent the Westbrook does, IMO...

If Westbrook has an edge on the defensive end, it isn't by much at all....

This Klay is better than Steph narrative needs to die. Curry scores more, more consistently and more efficiently, while being the better passer, all while drawing more attention than anybody in the league offensively when he's off the ball, and is constantly trapped when he has it. Not to mention handles, floaters, shot creating etc...

Klay has improved, and his defense is pretty good, but Curry's defense is at least average, and he has the IQ and quick hands to get a lot of steals.

Dont think its a narrative aside from one or two knuckleheads.

Its clear as day that Steph is a better player than Klay

Wouldn't be so sure. Pretty sure I saw Ric Puker claiming this, and he's paid to watch the Warriors!

He also would take Rose over LeBron to start a franchise, so he clearly is an idiot.

To answer the question, I think he's 4th behind LeBron, Durant, and CP3. Yes I don't have Davis up there yet but he's quickly climbing the ladder.
