Difficult. I don't know what "great" exactly means, but I think I Carter has been greater, even though Bosh played 126 more games than him.

Greater Carter, but I would take Bosh because of the more games played.

I think if you ask the Raptors fans this question, the majority would choose Carter aswell.

Carter by a landslide. Also I'm not gonna be objective here.

I think it's Carter without much debate.

Pretty easily Carter. More iconic player and was a better player at that.

I'd say Vince. More memorable, comparable team success, more dynamic #1 player, better playoff performer.

I'm really surprised now. I'd give a slight edge to Bosh because his prime in Toronto was longer, healthier and more consistent. I'd take Vince for peak, though.

Poll definitely shouldn't be the landslide margin that it is right now (12 to 2 in VC's favor).

Carter was obviously more spectacular, more iconic, but in terms of ability/impact on the court, I don't think any sizeable gap exists between the two.

The fact that VC had about as ugly a divorce from a team as a star player can ever have yet the majority of Raps fans STILL overwhelmingly favor him tells you everything you need to know.

01 Carter was on another level. That one year was better than many of the Bosh's stat padding years combined.

Stat padding? Bosh's impact was very good based on RAPM.

Vince took his crappy gang of scrubs (except antonio "the 32yo 6'9 career backup pf turned center who routinely blew wide open layups/dunks and fumbled passes" davis to an extent and of course jerome williams who inexplicably only got about 15mpg even though everyone but the coach saw that the team was infinitely better whenever he was on the court and of course at the same time we had geriatric charles oakley lumbering around for 30-35mpg putting up empty stats, but i digress...) to a 47-35 record and a 2nd round exit, at the buzzer in game 7 of course, during which he averaged 30.5p 6r 5.5a 2s 2b on a respectable 57%TS along with only 7.5 TOV%. All while being the sole focus of the sixers who ofcourse were an elite (or at the very least a very good) defensive team.

Bosh took his crappy teams to 33-49 (or 40-42, 41-41 depending which season you view as his statistical peak in toronto). The best record he had was also 47-35 but that team was actually not that bad by eastern conference standards, not to mention most of the main guys were in their primes. Of course his two playoff appearances were first round exits though going 1-4 (magic) and 2-4 (kidd/vince nets)

That should be worth something in terms of impact. Don't get me wrong, i think bosh was an excellent player and often gets underrated but i don't think he was on quite the same level. Ability would be pretty hard to compare considering they're completely different players. I also believe that because vince was such a spectacular player people overlooked/underrated other aspects. I can't tell you how many ignorant posters i've seen who regurgitate the same old crap that vince developed his 3pt shot after he lost his athleticism even though he clearly had his best 3pt season in 00-01. Even at the time a lot of people were saying "oh he can't shoot, all he does is dunk". More importantly, people ignored the cerebral part, intangibles, playmaking and even the drive. Peak vince played with as much passion as anyone. Basically, people were blinded by the flash. But of course anything i say will be waved as me being a homer or stan so i might as well stop wasting my time.

In the end, i think it comes down to each voter's definition of "goat raptor". To me it means the best, as in peak. So vince wins easily imo, based on what i've seen firsthand (the infamous eyetest) and also looking at the stats in correlation with the team results as well as respective supporting casts.

VC is easily the GOAT Raptor ever no offence to Bosh, he was fantastic in Toronto, but it has to be Carter.

"He was spectacular here. He was our only true franchise player. Arguably we have not had a franchise player since. Chris Bosh was an all-star, but not necessarily a franchise player," MLSE chairman and minority owner Larry Tanenbaum said on the subject recently.

Thats the difference.

Carter made more of an impact. Bosh was just a soft regular little all star with little recognition. Vince was a household name.
