He'll probably still want his player options in the deal. It's not like Cleveland will be in a position to refuse those terms.

JE just posted 02-15 multi-year RAPM (which he says works in place of PI RAPM). Here's how Lebron ranks:

Code: Select all

Year   Off    Def    Net

2004   1.22  -0.76   0.46
2005   2.75   0.50   3.26
2006   3.26   0.49   3.75
2007   3.81   1.67   5.49
2008   5.07   1.27   6.33
2009   6.28   2.56   8.84
2010   7.05   2.01   9.05
2011   6.24   3.27   9.50
2012   6.35   2.94   9.29
2013   5.80   0.60   6.40
2014   6.48   0.32   6.79
2015   6.82   1.95   8.77
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

Yep, and the fact that he opted on the 5 yr instead of 1 puts all things to rest.

That surprised me a lot. It definitely should pave the way to a comfortable season for Cleveland.

I honestly thought he would sign a 1 year deal to play it by ear and see if Cleveland is really his fit, or at least try to get more money when the cap raises.

Pleasantly surprised. Spend that money, dan :)

Mo Williams 2 years/4.3 mil, player option year 2. Excellent value, adds depth and is a better insurance policy on Kyrie than anything they had at present. A little nostalgia thrown in the mix too, only this time he is no sidekick. They are looking excellent heading into next season if healthy, which is always an IF when it comes to Lebron led teams these last few years.

Great offseason so far, and they still have the Haywood chip (please say no to Jamal Crawford though). They're going to overpay for Thompson, but if Gilbert is fine paying the tax it ain't my money. You do what you can to bring this team back, they were looking unbeatable when healthy after Lebron got back in mid January last year. Something like 38-3 with Lebron/Kyrie/Love all in the lineup from January 15th through the playoffs. This could very well bethe best/deepest/most matchup diverse cast Lebron has ever had if everyone is healthy.

So is Della the backup or is it Mo now? Also why pay someone like Shump 10 million a year?

I think Mo will be the backup PG, but barring the acquisition of another rotation caliber guard (Re-sign smith? Rumors of Crawford or Joe Johnson?) they will both play nightly. Delly can defend both guard spots at 6'4".

Re-sign JR and TT, trade Haywood for a good backup SF.

What's going on with the Joe Johnson trade? Is it gonna happen?

Trading for JJ would be pretty cool, he would be the best back up LeBron's had and his isolation ball might actually be effective against second units, and he's also able to play off ball.

Last I heard the Cavs were torn on the prospects of a Haywood/Varejao for Johnson deal because it would put luxury tax payments alone in excess of 100 million. It would give them some relief 2 years from now though when the cap jumps, because Joe Johnson is a free agent after this season and they'd have found a taker for Varejao at 9 million that season, but overall this would be an expensive trade for the Cavs. The nets seem like they really want to do this deal to save tax money, the ball appears to be in the Cavs court

They could realistically have Lebron play 20 minutes a game with Joe Johnson on the squad and simply just save him for the playoffs.

Saves a ton of money for BRK, would demand Hollis-Jefferson or walk out.

McCullough would be a nice Bron PF for the future, but he doesn't help now like RHJ potentially could in a defensive role.

I like Mo as a pickup. He can still score pretty decently, and he'll be a good backup for Kyrie.

Well, they have everything they need. I suppose they don't really have a backup for LeBron, but with their lineup flexibility, and some of Blatt's motion offense, I think they can be good with LeBron off the floor too.

It'll be really interesting to see LeBron, Mo, and Andy all playing together again. I bet that first game in Cleveland is gonna be crazy for the crowd. Can't wait for the season

Is this guy gonna sign yet or what? Weird that it's taking this long.
