KAJ and KG for me, pretty clearly. Just a clearly better fit. On offense, you have Kareem in the low post with his back to the basket, Garnett in the mid/high post facing the basket and shooting jumpers, on defense you have Kareem protecting the rim/blocking shots and KG roaming/disrupting pick & rolls.

KAJ/KG is a match made in heaven, on both ends of the court. I'm not sure if I would take ANY bigman combination of KAJ/KG. Probably not.

I agree that KG/Kareem is arguably the best bigman combo. Would you consider taking Duncan/Hakeem or maybe Russell/Wilt over KG/Kareem?

Yes, definitely would consider Duncan/Hakeem. I think it's a toss-up between Kareem/Garnett and Hakeem/Duncan. These are the two best possible bigman duos I can think of. Some people say that Duncan and Olajuwon were too similar in terms of skillset, to coexist well, but I don't think it's a problem because they were both very versatile, had solid shooting range and very good passing ability. It's not like either one of them was a black hole offensively...Like I said many times before - both Hakeem and Tim proved very early on that they could coexist with other 20/10 bigs, right from the beginning of their NBA careers - Hakeem with Sampson (made finals when both were averaging 20/10) and Duncan with D-Rob (both of them averaged 20/10+ in Duncan's rookie season, and the Spurs were pretty good).

Russell/Wilt...Incredible rebounding and defense, but neither one of them had shooting range like Kareem/Garnett or Hakeem/Duncan. To me, that's enough of an issue that I would take KAJ/KG and Hakeem/Tim over Wilt/Russell, comfortably. Not to mention that both Wilt and Bill are old school players, and I would just feel more comfortable taking more modern players.

I would put Shaq/Dirk on the same level as Wilt/Russell. Much worse defense, but much better offense, and terrific fit offensively (pick & roll defense would be a serious problem for Shaq/Dirk, though).

Russell/Barkley or Walton/Barkley would be my third pick after Kareem/Garnett and Hakeem/Duncan. I think Sir Charles paired with a dominant defensive center who doesn't need a lot of touches or FGAs, would be a phenomenal duo.

95 Robinson/94 Hakeem might be the best defensive frontcourt you could make, tho id go with an earlier version of Hakeem.

Still i think Kareems ability on offense tips it to the favor of team 1 ever so slightly.

I think KG/KAJ is an ideal pairing. KG's passing is the icing on the cake for me
