I would take the guys who actually played with each other and were very successful - Shaq and Wade. 2001 Shaq was way, WAY better than 2005 or 2006 Shaq who played with Wade, so there's a big improvement overall. I doubt Wade would clash with near peak Shaq like Kobe did.

1990 Ewing and 2012 LeBron seems insane, though. That's a close second to me.

Tmac and Hakeem have very good game synergy.

Shaq/Wade easily for me TBH. Shaq and Dream are like a wash. Peak Wade is better than peak TMac, and Wade is clearly a more well-regarded playoff commodity. Lebron/Ewing duo has big gaps between Ewing-Dream/Shaq and Kobe and Garnett are both individually weaker than the other duos.

Shaq and Wade for me.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I feel like 09 Kobe/04 Kg are the only duo without an argument. Not that they wouldn't be devastating, but you have Hakeem and Shaq who peaked higher than Kg with guards at their side who were at minimum equal to Kobe.

All duos are great, but I'd take Shaq and Wade. I think Wade is better than Tracy and the only bigs I'd take over 2001 Shaq are Kareem, Wilt and Hakeem.

Yeah I think so as well, but interesting to say the least.

If I can ask what do Kareem wilt and Hakeem give you that Shaq doesn't in 01? in particular 01 playoff Shaq.

Consistent defensive effort all season long. That's why 2000 Shaq is also clearly better. Still I consider only few seasons to be better:

* 1993 and 1994 for Hakeem (not a sure thing though)
* 1977 and 1974 for Kareem. Probably 1971 too, but I need to think more about it.
* 1967 and 1964 for Wilt. 1968 is up there too, but his injury in PS costed him a bit in this conversation, so probably not.

I think I might change my answer to Lebron and Ewing. Obviously Lebron can out perform Wade and I think Ewing could hang in there with Shaq so if they had a good overall team I could see them beating the Wade and Shaq team. Ewing could take Shaq out of the post.

I picked Tmac/Hakeem because even though Wade won the title in 2006, it wasn't his peak year whereas Tmac's 2003 season was a top 3 SG season outside Jordan. Tmac and Hakeem also have the better synergy imo
