Re: Your top 20 current NBA Players
Booker should not even be sniffing a top 20 list, let alone a top 5.
Just spitballing, I'd say:
Lebron
Durant
Curry
Kawhi
Harden
Westbrook
Davis
CP3
Giannis
Butler
Cousins
Gobert
Dray
Wall
Lowry
Thomas
PG13
Blake
Klay
KAT
Or something

How many in your top 20 have scored 70 in one game, let alone at 20 years old.

Re: Your top 20 current NBA Players
How I think I'll rank them after PS.
1. LeBron James
2. Russell Westbrook
3. Kevin Durant
4. James Harden
5. Stephen Curry
6. Kawhi Leonard
7. Chris Paul
8. Anthony Davis
9. Giannis Antetokounmpo
10. John Wall (I don't think advanced stats do him justice)
11. Jimmy Butler
12. Rudy Gobert
13. Demarcus Cousins (he is so low on my list only because I'm still not convinced that you can build a winner around him)
14. Paul George (currently playing at TOP 12 level but can't rank him higher because how mediocre he was relatively to his expectations for most of the year. I can definitely see him climbing this list after PS)
15. Draymond Green
16. Kyle Lowry (great RS when healthy but known to disappoint in PS)
17. Karl-Anthony Towns
18. Isaiah Thomas
19. Nikola Jokic (minutes restrict him from being higher. Very impressed with this dude)
20. Marc Gasol
HM: DeRozan, Irving, Blake, Whiteside etc. Lots of guys can replace few guys from the bottom.
I'm sure I missed somebody.
1. LeBron James
2. Russell Westbrook
3. Kevin Durant
4. James Harden
5. Stephen Curry
6. Kawhi Leonard
7. Chris Paul
8. Anthony Davis
9. Giannis Antetokounmpo

It was tough past the top-12 for me. You could pretty much arrange players 13-25 in any order. A lot of deserving guys like Klay, Jokic, Draymond, Marc Gasol, Aldridge, Whiteside, DeRozan, and Hayward barely missed the cut.

None have scored 70. So why not put him #1? Why are you stopping at 5?

Re: Your top 20 current NBA Players
idk my list exactly, but I guarantee a SG averaging 22 ppg on slightly poor efficiency for the team that finished dead-last in the conference, while nabbing only 3.2 rpg and maintaining only a 1.11 Ast:TO ratio, and not being anything special defensively....is not even remotely within sniffing distance of my top 20 (much less my top 5). Especially this season, where there is an abundance of high-end talent to choose from.

How many players have the following:

> 0.4 OBPM
> -2.7 DBPM
> -2.3 BPM
> -0.2 VORP

...quite a bit more than 20. One game doesn't supplant the other 81. You didn't see Corey Brewer in the top 20 a few years back when he dropped 51. Booker has potential to get there, but he's far from reaching the top 20, let alone top 5.

Re: Your top 20 current NBA Players
The Top 5 here could be jumbled, hard to say:
1) Westbrook
2) LeBron
3) Curry
4) Harden
5) Durant
6) Kawhi
7) Giannis
8) Davis
9) Cousins
10) CP3
--small break-- (just sub elite guys who play both sides)
11) Butler
12) Wall
13) George
-- small break-- (elite guys on one side of the ball)
14) Griffin
15) Towns
16) Lillard
17) Draymond
18) Thomas
19) Gobert
20) Jokic?
Which also points out again that this is one of the strongest "star" eras we have seen. I had to push out traditional recent Top 20 and even sometimes Top 15 guys like Kyrie, Klay, Gasol, Lowry etc. just to make room for all the outstanding performers.

Re: Your top 20 current NBA Players
I'm surprised so many people still see Griffin as a top 20 player over some All-Stars and potentially All-NBA Third-Team players.
How much does team record factor into rankings, because KAT is averaging 25 and 12 on 61TS% with a 120 ORtg on a team that's trying to win but can't help blowing leads in the second half. He has two less wins than a team headed by two top 20 players in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.
